We hosted our daughters 5th birthday party in the cafe and I cannot say enough about how wonderful everything was! The space is inviting and the team is so friendly. Work & Play Cafe is a gem and a great addition to our community for so many reasons!
Nice place to come and grab a coffee with kids. A separate playroom and a separate game room divide up the space nicely. Within the playroom there is a reading and coloring room.
Great new space; what a gift to our local community, and especially working parents. My 2 year old devoured their blueberry muffin and didn't want to leave their play place. Had a smile on her face the whole time we were there. Can't wait to return with friends :)
Found out about this place last week and figured we'd come check it out. It's as close to perfect as you can come. 1) The space--my kid did not want to leave, he was having so much fun with the toys, and there really is something for everyone. 2) The mission--disability work is close to my heart, and seeing inclusion and support (for disabled people, but also POC, LGBTQIA++, etc) is just beautiful. 3) Sustainability--most of the food is locally sourced, and there were a lot of good brands and non-plastic toys. 4) The people--the worker I spoke with was incredibly friendly and welcoming and very passionate about the mission of inclusion and support. 5) Accessibility--the food was reasonably priced, the space is free, and it was very comfortable as a disabled person. 6) The community--they're very open to feedback and really want to support the community, from having local artists' work for sale to offering events to come together to the space itself--I know I can bring my kid to play to give myself a break and I know as an LGBTQIA++and autistic person, I and my family are safe and welcomed. It's not quite perfect (adult changing tables would be an unexpected bonus, and a little library would be wonderful, as well as maybe some art to make their inclusivity more apparent), but it's like 95% there, which is amazing and miles further than most. Every city should have at least one place like this, and I highly encourage everyone to visit and support this amazing space.
