Great food (especially the French Onion soup), wonderful staff, and a real vintage fine dining ambiance. Plenty of delicious drinks (I enjoyed the tumbleweed dessert cocktail) and a good selection of wines. A completely worth it splurge; I would love to go again. Their lobsters look like they went to Colombia to get a BBL, they are huge! I ate here multiple times and it always hits the spot. Their sides are generous and delicious, and the steaks are juicy and cooked flawlessly. There's no item on the menu that I don't like! Service is also fantastic. I recommend! The Food was fantastic, a little pricey, but worth it 👍 good atmosphere 👍 The server kinda ignored us, after she made a mistake, on our order. The mistake led to, one of us not getting his food, before all of us were done eating. And most of the sides were served way later than the steaks. Amazing atmosphere and exceptional service. I would recommend the cooked Brussels as an appetizer. The steak flavor was nice and the Oscar style was a pleasant delight. The salmon was pretty good as well. The quality was top notch and the portions were so big we had to take the left overs home. Wilder’s is perfect for a date night or night on the town. Excellent steak house! Took the girlfriend here in September and it was amazing. Steaks are top notch and sides were very good as well. The bacon app is something for sure to try! Our server was extremely kind and was always checking on us. Is it pricey, yes, but any top steak house is! Elegant and cozy atmosphere made it great for a romantic dinner! I lived near Joplin for over 30 years before I finally got a chance to come to this fine establishment and it did not disappoint! Crystal was our server and she was a true gem. She took the time to answer our questions not only about the menu, but also the history of Wilders. Her service was top notch and we plan to request her the next time we are in because we will definitely be back. My husband is a history buff so I suggested this place to celebrate our anniversary. He absolutely loved it! He ordered steak and I ordered chicken. He said his steak was very good, but just a tad undercooked. My chicken was kind of rubbery and I ended up taking it home for our dog, but...the desserts were to die for!! They have the BEST pecan pie I have ever had. My mouth is watering just thinking of it. This is a classier place, but casual clothes are absolutely acceptable. Reservations are not required but recommended and I would definitely get one so you don't miss out! This is a very old, locally owned, incredible steakhouse in Joplin. I would willingly drive the distance to have dinner again at this amazing establishment. I was absolutely impressed with the vibe, service, and amazing food. Worth every minute driven and every penny spent. A 5-star restaurant, best restaurant in Joplin and an expensive but fantastic place to eat. I recommend the bacon. It’s $16 but it’s cut like a pork loin it’s thick and big so it’s easily shareable and can fill you up. All 3 bacon have different tastes. I ordered the blackened rib eye steak which is shown in the picture. It’s 8oz so it’s pretty thick. The flavour is excellent. The place dim but it is lit up in unique ways to feel very fancy. Very pleasant experience our waiter was knowledgeable and well versed in his craft. The food was good. The only exception was my Caesar salad. It was short on dressing. We had desert cocktails, onion rings(Mmm), salad, bread, blackened chicken, mashed potatoes and asparagus. My sweeter half had pork chops with fruit compote sauce, mashed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese. Too full for desert. Next time no cocktails or onion rings. The food is really good. I had the elk, creamed spinach, and crab dip. The crab dip was the only dish that was just okay. The food took some time to arrive but was delicious and hot upon arrival. A bread setting would have been nice to hold me over, especially at nearly $100 bucks a head. I would recommend if that's in your range. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
