Great service and food. It’s always a great meal at West 29th. The staff knows the menu. Have a great separate room for up to 10 people. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Butternut Squash Ravioli
Okay so let me first start out by saying, the old menu gets 5/5 stars. I’ve been coming to West 29th over the past year and have kept coming back because of the delicious fillet. My husband and I live about 25 mins away but this restaurant has been our go to when we have out of town guests, birthdays, and special occasions. Everybody we have brought there has fallen in love with their fillet. How could they not? The truffle sauce on the steak was absolutely to die for. We went in recently for a pick me up after an awful week and were told the menu has changed. I gave the new fillet a chance and boy was this chocolate sauce terrible. My husband ordered something else off the menu and said it was decent but we def won’t be driving 25 mins anymore for just a “decent” meal. He also really enjoyed their fish&chips and that is also gone. So I guess RIP to our favorite restaurant in Denver area. If the truffle sauce comes back then so will we! I know truffle can be costly, but I would personally pay extra if they brought it back. Otherwise the ambience and staff are awesome as always. And as a side note, the squash veggie mix that came with the steak was also way more filling and enjoyable then the new option. Updating my review to 5/5 stars! Went back on New Years because of the owners response and was in fact able to order the fillet with the truffle sauce and it was as tasty as always ! Thank you!! We’ll be back!! Sat close to the fireplace. More ambiance than heat but it was nice Food was a nice combination of various foods from Clam Chowder and Mussels for appetizers to beef stroganoff with gorgonzola cheese to Salmon or Beef tips plus many others. Service was well versed in food and drink and prompt on service without being hovering. Our party of 4 had a very enjoyable dinner and I would go again. Very good cocktails, food, and service. The restaurant was busy, but everything came out quickly and exactly as ordered. Food is a little on the pricey side, especially for the size of portions, but I would still come back. The beef stroganoff with gorgonzola was delicious and the egg noodles tasted homemade! What a gem of a restaurant. My husband and I agree that this place feels like you're at the nicest local restaurant in a small town. The bartenders and servers are kind, prompt, and helpful. The food is VERY, VERY good. The bone-in porkchop is melt-in-your-mouth delicious and the sauces and sides with everything we have tried are out of this world. Highly recommend the clam chowder as well! Cozy vibe inside for snowy nights, or snag a spot on the patio if it's nice out. We have been going to West 29th for years and always enjoyed ourselves. Until now. I called mid-morning 9/16 to reserve a table for 4. Got an answering machine with a recording asking for reservation details, date, time number of people, our phone number. It ended with a promise they would confirm by phone or text. That evening I has not gotten verification, so I called again. I spoke with a pleasant woman who took my reservation for 5pm the next day. At 4:14 yesterday I had an incoming call from West 29th, a man on the other end stated he got my message and had booked us for 5:15. I told him I already had booked a reservation yesterday for 5pm. He did not acknowledge what I said and simply repeated he had book us for 5:15. So I repeated that we already had a reservation for 5pm and he should double check. He then declared they were overbooked and he had bumped us to 5:15. I started to replay that I was not happy to hear that when he hung up on me! We met our friends at the restaurant at 5pm and a female hostess asked if we had a reservation, I paused and said yes at 5pm and gave her our name. She smiled, pulled menus and was ready to seat us when a man approached and told her to have us wait at the bar as he had bumped us to 5:15. I asked the man if he was the one who had called me and he said yes. I asked to speak with a manager and he said he was the manager. I then asked for the name and contact information of the owner and he replied "if you're trying to get me in trouble it won't work. I said I want to speak to the owner about how you hung up on me in the middle of a conversation earlier. To which he said, "if you're going to get hostile", at that point I turned away from him and joined our group at the bar as it was clear that his social and customer skills were seriously lacking, and I wanted to salvage what was left of our plans for a nice dinner out with friends. About 15 minutes later we were seated on the back patio, which I had requested as it's lovely and away from the street. WE WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE OUT THERE THE ENTIRE TIME! By the way, their server Eric is a gem. He's waited on us in the past as well and is always attentive, easy and fun to talk with. While other customers were also arriving and being seated, the place was not even half full by the time we left. It was clear the managers allegation that they were overbooked was not valid. Even IF it was, the "manager" should've started his phone conversation with an apologetic explanation for why our reservation was being pushed back. There was no excuse for being treated so rudely and being forced to wait to be seated. Other than the manager enjoys flaunting his power. We will not be returning and we will be sharing our cautionary experience with our family and friends and here as well. This manager lost this business at a minimum 4 good customers. Likely many more. This manager should be replaced with someone who cares about their customers. I'm attaching a photo of us on the patio. Not sure if the time stamp will show but it was taken at 5:48. See how NOT crowded it was! UPDATE TO "OWNERS" REPLY: For Clarity, my issue is with your treating me (and others reviewers) rudely and disrespectfully. Including hanging up on me mid conversation. When I was making our reservation with the pleasant woman by phone I did request the back patio. She commented that it wasn't open but that the other patio area would be and I told her that was fine. When you finally saw fit to seat us you headed for the back patio and I commented "Oh the back patio is open? " You said that's what you asked for. Which is true. Regardless of where you chose to seat us there were plenty of tables empty and available AND again the issue is your treatment of your customers will lose this once fine establishment business.

Excellent place to bring friends! We came in on a Sunday night with a reservation. We ordered the potato croquettes and the meat&cheese board. We got two bottles of wine: a sparkling rose and a Cab! For dinner two of us got the salmon and it was amazing - we each had it cooked differently but we were really happy with what we ordered. The risotto was perfect. Our friend got the filet and it was delicious. Another person in our party got the beef with polenta and loved it. Dessert was key lime pie, cheesecake and crème brûlée. Everything we received was cooked perfectly, we had a great time and enjoyed the traditional decor and atmosphere. I celebrated my birthday dinner here, I called two hours before to make a reservation, they were able to accommodate a party of 8 in such a short notice. The food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. Our waitress was outstanding, wish I remembered her name. She has a knee brace and was quick with every order, thank you!

Dinner here has been excellent. Carrot fritters were delicious, iron steak and that goat cheese gratin! Excellent. Waiting on the deep fried Honduran cocoa brownie. Great dinner and excellent waiter that gave us an extra helping of the yummy breadsticks and a to go side of marinara to take home. Looking forward to my next visit. Plenty more on the menu I want to try.
