Negative 1 actually. Haven't shopped at Vons in 5 years because of the assist Manager couldn't figure out the register problems so had a temper tantrum, got mouthy with me. Vons corp complaint dept didn't return communication so I never give them my biz in 5 yrs.
Glad to have Grocery Outlet, Smart&Final, Manor Market, and even High Country Lumber/Ace for dog food!
Vons will never see a dime from me again due to one employee and zero customer service followup.
Seems like half of everything I buy ends up moldy and so I look and it ends up 6 months past the date. Does no one do any checks on that or does this town just not care to do their jobs correctly?
Let Bishop go! This Vons owns the old Kmart building and several other buildings on Main Street and won’t allow any other businesses to set up shop. They’re strangling this community. It’s hurting our city’s economy and forcing us locals to drive 100+ miles to Carson City or Ridgecrest for basics like socks and underwear.
When I lost my big backpack, a Chinese night-shift staff helped me. I missed saying thank you to him before his leaving. Thank you so much. When I come to Bishop again, I will say that to you again. I really appreciate you.
I've been visiting Bishop and surrounding area for about 15 years now. Explore a little more each time. Every time that I stop here, most recently 8/30 & 8/31. One thing I have come to realize, everyone passing through, needs to slow down and not pick at every single thing that isn't to their preference. If little things like "floor signs" and "rest rooms being out of order" are going to ruin your day, look for another outlet to rant. No need to take it out on the great, friendly people that work here. I asked questions, not only did I get and find what I was looking for by asking an associate or two, I received the knowledge and service with a smile. From the gas station, to the cart kid in the lot, everyone greets and smiles. Something unheard of these days. Guess people have somehow decided to take issue with manners and courtesy. So thank you VONS employees for making the distance from home seem much closer.
Camping nearby, we came in to get some supplies. The store was stocked and consistent with Vons stores but their checkout line(s) were completely disorganized. No floor signs to say where the self checkout starts and stops, people were cutting in line, people were annoyed when someone who went to checkout not knowing there were others in line. Several kiosks were out of order and only one gave cash back.
Looks like nobody trusts ok ol' DT and there was a run on the store. Soup isle is near empty, no potatoes, or eggs and the meat bread selection is getting fairly low. The checkers were doing a fine job and the produce guy was trying to keep things in stock.
Just like any other Vons/Safeway. You can find anything you would normally find in any other city. They do sell fishing and other outdoorsy stuff that's pertinent to the area. Can also find Bishop souvenirs here. Location is right next to Kmart and has a gas station closer to the road. Happy they added self checkout again!!
