Seven years ago, when I bought house in Long Island, my Italian neighbor was greeting me with pastry from Villabella. I fell in love with their “lobster tail” baking goodness, and every so often I would stop at the bakery to pick up some for my family or coworkers. This morning I came with my daughter and ordered 3 lobster tails for Saturday breakfast. The lady packed 3 lobster tails into the box as usual on the back without me seeing it and tied the box. Each lobster tail is now $7 which I don’t mind. After I picked up the box, it felt suspiciously lightweight. I asked the lady if she put 3 in the box, and she said she did. When I was trying to open the box to see what is there, the lady got upset with me. So, I brought it home, and when I opened the box, the pastry looked nothing like it looked before. It was brown in color (overbaked) and almost twice smaller than it used to be. And I am wondering why would someone owning business do something to get rid of customers? My daughter advised me to go to different bakery next time. People be aware.
