I ordered a birthday cake for my son as a repeat customer (I had gotten his cakes and my other son’s cakes from them previously). He was very excited for his paw patrol cake, which I had personally designed with their team! I sent my husband to pick it up on his birthday. They said they had no record of me ever ordering the cake. They offered no apology and no solutions. They acted as if I were a crazy person when I approached them about this. I had no cake for his birthday party. I was shocked to have such a poor experience and can no longer trust them with any orders for important events. I have not been back since and neither has my extended family. I can’t respond to the owner’s response, so I am updating my original post. Number one, I would like to point out the continued lack of accountability on Toni’s part. Let’s not rewrite history here. My husband was told you had no record of my order. I got on the phone and said exactly what I ordered and was again told I never ordered anything. There was no cake offered. My husband bought a cake at full price that was nothing like I ordered and was not paw patrol (which is really the only part my 4 year old cared about). There were no repeated phone calls to me. If there were I wouldn’t have had no birthday cake for my son. A simple, we’re sorry what can we do to make this right (then and now) would have gone a long way. Service: 1
A Perfect Patisserie that originated in the Chicago. Beautiful pastries and fantastic espresso. Price per person $1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Until today I’ve only had cakes from here which are spectacular. Then today I went and had some breakfast. The croque monsieur was so tasty as well as the quiche Florentine. I also liked my spicy chai. It’s such a cute little bakery with some cafe seating. Once great Toni's Bakery in Hinsdale has lost a 20+ year customer. The last three times I've ordered from them it's been chaos and their quality has gone way down hill. Service is BRUTAL. I ordered cookies for the holiday, the girl told me they would be ready for pick up for me and they were not. Too late to re order before the holiday. No apology-- apparently they have too many customers to care about losing one. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
Would give zero stars, but it doesn’t allow for that. Ignored me and my son for 15 minutes at two unmanned registers. Wasn’t busy. 5 people behind the counter. None seemed concerned about helping customers. Would like to rate the food,we never got the opportunity. Won’t be going here again. Ever. If you’re looking for that snotty Parisian experience here in the US,I’m guessing this is the place. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
I’m leaving this review because this has happened to me several times before and it needs to be addressed: it seems like their register system is too complicated to ring up someone as well as make the drink/grab the treats. I think this could be solved by having 1 person on register and 1 person on collecting the goods/making the drink. I ordered 3 of each holiday cookies as well as an oat milk matcha. The gal did not know how to make a matcha-no problem, that drink probably doesn’t get ordered often. The manager came to show her how to make it, but when I tasted the 1st sip (street I drove away), it was NOT non-dairy milk. A previous time, I did not get 3 of each cookie that I ordered, I was charged for 8 separate sets of 3 cookies but only received 6 of each the sets. Again I feel like these could be easily resolved with better training and a simpler way of ordering/using the register. Meal type Other Price per person $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5

This was my first visit to the cafe. I absolutely love the decor and atmosphere. They have indoor and outdoor seating areas. They offered several choices for a savory snack or breakfast. My mother does not eat meat so she was excited to see a couple choices to choose from as well. The drink menu had many choices as well and my mother ordered a decaf coffee but worker said they did not have any brewed and instead of brewing some, one reason for the four stars, she offered her a decaf espresso. I ordered a blood orange Arnold Palmer. I ordered a ham and cheese croissant sandwich and my mother ordered an apple streusel. We both enjoyed our food and drinks. The other reason for four stars instead of five is that we received our drinks immediately but then sat and sat and sat waiting for our food items which I believe the lady taking a order forgot. I had to go back to the counter and asked her how do we get our food and she said oh I'll get it for you. She then made two more drinks before bringing us two items that she just basically took out of the case and put in a bag. She didn't even warm up the sandwich so I thought it was a little bizarre that she could not have just taken those two items out prior to that and gave them to us. So we actually sat for some time waiting for her to pull two items out of the case to hand them to us. I literally think she forgot our order and just didn't remember to give them to us until I reminded her. Had I not, we probably wouldn't have got them, so other than that our service was okay. If you're in a hurry and there's a line, probably not the best place to go. We were not in a hurry so the line wait was okay. It's a cute place to meet for a drink or a quick breakfast. If you need to order a cake, or get a cookie or pastry gift this place would be nice for that as well.

Toni's doesn't disappoint! This place made charming marzipan-covered cakes for me decades ago. It was called Toni Marie's in those days. I was in town again for a brief visit recently and wanted to see if the cakes were still as delicious and whimsically appealing as they had been. Steve was a pleasure to work with over the phone and online in crafting the adorable marzipan-covered cake shown below. In an early celebration of Sea Otter Awareness Week, I requested a design with otters holding paws and sent over a few simple online pics to give a general idea of what I wanted - otters, kelp, and purple sea urchins. I couldn't have asked for a more spot-on result. The interior was carrot cake with buttercream filling. Amazingly good with the marzipan! The cake is quite substantial and I felt it was very fairly priced for the quality and artistry involved. Thanks to everyone at Toni's for the beautiful cake!
We used Toni's Patisserie for our wedding cake on 10/1/22. Toni couldn't have created a more beautiful cake design - we described our vision to her and she completely delivered. She was great to work with and it was fun being in the bakery with her while she sketched the design. Thank you Toni for making us such a beautiful cake! The flower details were gorgeous!

First time here and I'm so glad i just stopped in after lunch at Fullers Tap & Grill. Fresh delicious desserts. I live in Downers Grove and I've never found a bakery with desserts i like. I love the mouse cake and tarts. I'll be sure to return again.
