This place has become of my favorite places to go eat and enjoy time with family and friends. Not many places like this left, definitely recommend stopping in, having a cold one and eating some good food in a very happy and friendly atmosphere Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Our first time to visit, we were on the way home from Austin and needed to get a bite to eat. It did NOT disappoint! I had the cheeseburger with fries, excellent! My husband had the Cowboy Up (hamburger steak with grilled onions and jalapeños) with green beans and friea, also excellent. For appetizers we had fried pickles and bottle caps (fried jalapeños) and both were very good. Its not a fancy or upscale place at all, just a really great place to eat. Highly recommend!! Quick pit stop while passing through. Not a whole lot to talk about outside of the chicken fried steak. The thing was huge (had to take half to go). The breading was done to perfection. The gravy was a bit runny for my taste and lacked a little flavor, but not bad. The quality of the steak is what I question the most. It was off to me from taste to texture. Not local to Rockdale, so cannot speak of other places. All and all not bad, but not great. I would give it 3.5 if I could. I don’t think I would ever stop here again and certainly wouldn’t go out of my way for it. The Owner is rude. I used to eat here, everytime that I come Rockdale but now I will go to the Cameron Beer Market. As they treat their customers with respect and show their appreciation for me stopping by. Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

The last time I got a good meal out of this place was 2008. Now they're either not open when the schedule says they should be or nobody answers the phone to take my water so I can pick it up and not hang around waiting on them while they take their sweet time. Go to Lee's landing, Julio's or China Buffet instead. They've got great food and great service!

Pleasant surprise. Looks more like a bar than restaurant, but food was great and reasonably priced for quantity. Chicken fried steak and chicken were really good and the service was amazing. Super friendly and attentive. Will go back when passing through.
