After you have seen Clymer Museum of Art, visit this steakhouse. At The Porch, guests can have good salmon, bacon and fish & chips. Spend a nice time here and share tasty crème brûlée and perfectly cooked asida with your friends. You will hardly forget delicious draft beer, marsala or liqueur that you can degust. I happened to see this place while waiting at a traffic light, so I stopped in to check it out. This restaurant has a nice open interior with a high ceiling giving it a great ambiance. I ordered the fish and chips and was very satisfied. It wasn't greasy and the portion was ample. I've always stopped in Ellensburg anytime I'm driving to Moses Lake or Spokane, but only had fast food. This will be my new stop over from now on. Kids fries were covered in pepper and the salad had tons of peppercini in them. The men's restroom toilet handle was broken and was being held together with masking tape. Thefood cost does not match the quality of food that is created by the chef. This will definitely be our first and last time here. Overall, the Porch is a great spot to return to with family and friends. The people working have been nothing but friendly during each occasion. They’ll even pop on something other than prank television shows when you ask. Food is spot on time and time again. I will say- it saddens me when I forget they only run flatbreads until 6pm.. because man those are delicious and could be chowed upon a little later (however I’m guessing it’s a prep time thing so no harm). Beer is always cold and fresh. I think the wine list could be paired down. There are a few on the menu that are just “meh” in my opinion. Gave the atmosphere 4/5 stars solely because for me it’s a tad bright overhead light in the PM hours. Otherwise, see y’all next week!! Our waitress was very attentive and good at her job. The food was fine but not a good value. Too expensive for what you received. Especially if you want to add protein to a basic house dinner salad or switch your burger to a veggie burger or chicken. Crazy expensive. The decor is not put together. It's like the restaurant doesn't know what it wants to be yet. Is it a tap house or place to watch sports? Is it modern with art on the walls? Or is it a pub style restaurant? It's bits and pieces of each but doesn't do any of them well. Pick one and go with it. So many other places we probably won't be back. Overall a decent experience. Their tacos were really delicious. I didn't quite like the Greek Quinoa Salad too dry and most of the chicken slices were a bit hard. Either it was over cooked or not that fresh. The place really had a nice ambience. It's not a bad option in the town. You can totally do it. Just don't have very high hopes. By the way they really had an amazing bar. One thing which I didn't like was tacos were offered on happy hours but I think I was charged nevertheless the regular price. Went there for lunch, got a steak salad, and was very satisfied. The steak wasn’t anything fancy and perhaps slightly more medium than medium rare, but still worked out perfectly fine as a salad. The Porch. Everything was great from the food, service, atmosphere, and ice-cold beer. We had the Calamari, Hawaiian flat bread, steak flat breand, and the 12th Man Burger with fries. Let me tell you the burger was absolutely amazing. I really can't wait to go back. I have seen pics of the fish-and-chips. I think that's next. Thank you, The porch can't wait to come back. The food was lovely (except the ribeye with gravy on it... a good seasoning would work better). Come in for some great choices and some beverages. The AC works great in here on those hot days. Be warned... it may take a bit of time for your food to come out of the kitchen. Service is questionable, we were not checked on often - drinks ran dry and food did not come out in the order we asked for. Service Update: 5.31.2023 - still seems understaffed. Waitress did not bring ordered drinks by end of meal, totally forgot. Not enough checking on patrons. Before 5.31.2023... I would still give it another shot since the food elevated the service. After 5.31.2023... I think I have had my fill of absent wait staff... don't get me wrong - they were kind... but awful at tending to patrons. - hint to management... check on customers instead of rolling napkins with your back to customers. Met our son for lunch in Ellensburg where he attends college. He recommended The Porch. My fish and chips were good but not the best I have had. Super good food and super good service. We had the calamari appetizer. It was so good and cooked perfectly. I ordered The Porch Steak with garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables. I ordered my steak medium-rare and it was cooked to perfection. The staff was awesome. Drinks were delicious. I liked the atmosphere too.
