**LONG POST**
I had a rather disappointing experience with the server who attended to me and my family. Throughout our meal, the server did not meet our expectations and failed to deliver our orders correctly. Despite our attempts to get his attention, he seemed disinterested and neglected to check on us. We had to actively seek him out multiple times for drink refills and other necessary items.
To make matters worse, when it came time to settle the bill, the server brought us the check. Due to the subpar service we had received, we made the decision not to leave a tip or pay any gratuity. I paid the bill with my card and made it clear by crossing out the tip portion and inputting the exact total. As a precaution, I even took a photo of the receipt for my personal records. However, later that day, I received a notification from my bank app indicating that the total charged did not match what I had signed for.
Upon reviewing my copy of the receipt, I discovered that the server had added a 20% tip without my consent. I was outraged by this for two reasons: firstly, the server did not deserve to be tipped, and secondly, adding a tip without authorization is fraudulent and against the law. The following morning, I returned to the restaurant to speak with the manager. Unfortunately, the manager was not present, so I relayed my concerns to the supervisor on duty. The supervisor assured me that she would pass along my message and contact information to the manager, who would then reach out to me.
However, when I did not receive a call back, I decided to contact the restaurant an hour before closing. The person who initially answered the phone, which I suspect was the same server who served us, gave me a hard time when I requested to speak with the manager and ultimately hung up on me. After making several more attempts, I finally managed to get through and spoke directly with the manager. I explained the entire situation and expressed my frustration.
**ADVICE**... It is advisable to keep a copy of your receipts and even take pictures for your records. This way, you can protect yourself in case a similar incident occurs. It is unfortunate that servers like this one tarnish the reputation of gratuity for good service. It is important to remember that tipping is not mandatory and certainly not a free service fee, especially when the service does not meet expectations. Why should I reward you for simply doing your job, and even more so, why should I reward you for doing it poorly? It truly is disheartening.

Great Gluten free breakfast. Belgium waffle was very good. The hash browns were cooked in a way I’ve never had before and very good. Water wasn’t too bad and didn’t have a bad tap water taste.
The restrooms were clean, beautiful, and well stocked. That’s a big deal because so many places now have terrible restrooms, tough thin cheap toilet paper, and no paper toilet seat liner. This place had nice soft toilet paper, toilet seat liners, and changing station. Well done!!

We had to go quickly, and were worried about having enough time because of an appointment. The server went out of her way to get us our food and check fast, and we had plenty of time to eat! The gluten-free pancakes were amazing!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

California Benedict
Always a must stop when I am in SLC, either the Sugarhouse or Sandy location. Stepped out of my comfort zone today, always order the Swedish pancakes with lingonberries, almost as good as my Mom used to make. Had the western omelette today, really good!!! They cook their omelettes in the oven that makes them light and fluffy.

The original pancake house in Sandy is incredible. The food is always good and fresh and the staff is really nice.
The only downside is the wait. When I go with a party of 2 there’s very little wait, but for larger parties you’ll be there a while. I put my party on the waitlist and was told our table would be ready at 11 (would be 30 minutes from when I checked in.) 11 came and went so I asked for an update and was told it would be another 25 minutes. I get it these things happen. At 11:30 I asked for another update and was told another 25 minutes. Our party was sat at 12:05.
The wait is fairly understandable though. We had a large group and this is a really great breakfast place on a Sunday morning, of course it will be busy. I just wish their online check in and wait system was a bit more accurate.

Jalisco Burrito
The food was delicious as always, however the service was not good. We had the server Emily and she did not come to the table to check in with us. The table that sat next to us after us was helped prior and received their food before we were even spoken to. After waiting more than 10 minutes I had to approach the front desk and ask for help with getting service. My kids and I came to enjoy a meal here after church and honestly it was very disappointing to have a poor experience. Hopefully this post can encourage the manager here to have additional training with this server.

What an Omlett! It's a 2 meal size! I had the Irish omlett, hubby had the chilli Verde. Orded the pigs in a blanket ( pancakes wrapped around sausage ). Server was very nice.

Our group enjoyed our breakfast here. The portions are large, and everyone was stuffed after breakfast. Most of our group ordered pancakes, and they did not disappoint. The bacon Belgian waffle was good, but didn't have as much bacon flavor as expected. Overall, would come again if traveling through Sandy/Salt Lake City.
