Recently I decided to try a new restaurant I’ve seen in my travels but it wasn’t open during those times. However today a friend of mine and I felt the weather was perfect for discovering a new place. As I normally do I read reviews and looked at photos to acquaint myself with the venue, and compare it to my own experiences after dining there.
As beautiful as the Delaware River Valley is there are always new places to try and hopefully add to your list of those you’d visit again.
Lately I tried two places that I found disappointing by my standards, luckily this wasn’t one of them. In fact I enjoyed it more than I expected to.
Nestled into a hillside The Narrows faces the River so it’s a bit scenic. It’s also right on River Rd so the limited outside dining can get noisy. Inside it has a bit of an urban industrial vibe pleasantly mixed with a few cozy country touches. They could use some good music and some greenery would help.
The lunch menu isn’t vast, but there are choices for most tastes. I tried the Burger and my friend had the Chicken sandwich.. mine with herbed Fries (I found a bit salty), and his with their own version of potato chips which were nice n crunchy. Both dishes were satisfying and flavorful with ample portions. The food and the service was a bit slow, but it was a Holiday busy weekend do normally I’d guess good . We both felt we would come back and try more of their offerings n perhaps a dinner. As it worked out I returned for the Philly Cheesesteak their version was chopped which I usually see done in strips of meat peppers and onions. It was filling so I took the other half home!
I do hope they’ll offer some more sweets in the future to add to the meal and have interesting music to add to the vibe.
So fire up the Vette roadster or the Bike and bring your date ,or family, to check it out for yourself. Once you’re full you can walk it all off along the river and canal just across the street .. I’d say try it!

Our brunch meals were delicious and the atmosphere very rustic. Our waitress, Riley, was very friendly and attentive. The views were beautiful from where we were seated. Thank you for a very nice experience. 🤗

Loved this quaint restaurant on the Delaware. So many windows every seat has a view. Delicious food, full bar, delicious fresh baked goods. Friendly servers and some of the best coffee I've had.
Extra parking in back on the east side of building.
Bon Appétit!

Lobster roll was a special. Hubs enjoyed the duck. Sit in the dining room, not the canal room.
