Enjoy Bay Shore Historical Society and come to this bar. Nicely cooked fried chicken sandwiches, grilled octopus and salmon are the best dishes. The Linwood Restaurant and Cocktails offers good cheesecakes, chocolate pudding and apple pie. Degust delicious martinis, Sangria or bourbon. It's nice to order great espresso. Live music is performed by musicians in the evening. If you look through the visitors' comments, the staff is nice at this place. Fast service is something guests agree upon here. We LOVE this place. One of our favorite restaurants on the island. I've had several different meals (and stolen from my wife's plate) but I'm always drawn back to the chicken thighs and grits. Beer list is great for the discerning craft head. Always check if they have anything off list. Thomas, the bartender is one of the best bartenders that you can ever experience. If there was an option to put that he deserves a raise or a bonus I would do it. Amazing service atmosphere is great. Didn't try the food but the food looked and smelled great from people that were around us. Had such a great time on Valentine’s Day. Hostess and our waitress were both very nice and helpful. Food was delicious and the restaurant is beautiful. My rating is based on the quality of the food we ate, cocktails we drank and does relate to our personal ratings of Bay Shore’s Main St. restaurants. Can’t complain about the service - it was attentive and fast. The food. Fried chicken and the burger. Fried chicken while fresh just was not a good dish from the taste/texture/condiments prospective. The burger was the least favorite dish - I can speculate why but do not want to at this point - texture of beef dust. This restaurant has a very high rating. Absolutely stellar experience here at Linwood. Mikayla did an amazing job at being attentive, communicative and accommodating for our table of 9 - two of which have food allergies that she heard and worked around to provide a great, stress-free meal. The drinks had awesome presentation (especially the Espresso Martinis) and the food was all top notch. The house potato chips are fantastic as were the cheese curds. Filet Mignon sliders could have been a bit larger - but we all left full and satisfied, nonetheless. Kudos to Mikayla and the whole Linwood team for really knowing what they’re doing over there. Was there for Restaurant week. We were sat right away, but no one came to our table for at least 20 minutes. Food was OK. I had fried chicken and cheesy grits, it was OK. It was boneless, but I did not care for the cut.
