You can go to this bar if you appear to be near Verendrye Museum. The Chuckwagon offers good pizza and tasty chicken. Guests don't like beer at this place. The staff is said to be terrific here. I'm sure they do a great job all day long, but I have only been there later in the evening and it is an Oasis for a thirsty and hungry traveler. There is not much open in Pierre later into the evenings. Being able to stop in the Chuckwagon late at night and get not just a drink but some simple and tasty bar food is wonderful. Service is steady, friendly but not always fast. Hard to find folks willing to work late nights in a small city. The folks they have there are great and work really hard. I'm a very occasional out of town visitor and the times I've been there both the staff and the regulars were really warm and friendly. I stopped in on a Sunday after bird hunting and the blond haired bartender made me feel right at home. The food was good and the service was excellent. The next time in fort Pierre I will revisit Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
