Cannot recommend more! Food was delicious. Simple, clean, fresh. Perfect for a light weekend bite. Expertly prepared at the table. I’d highly recommend the oysters as well as the sea bass to share. Service was excellent, never felt rushed or like things were moving too slowly. Attentive, friendly staff offering a great service. Malta is know for its seafood, and who present it best?? Tartarun of course. I had an excellent experience. From service, to food and atmosphere. Oysters were fresh and delicious, I really wanted to try the prawn carpaccio but the fish tartar was enticing me more which was well made, fresh tasty and well paired with citrus and wasabi. As for main I tried swordfish, which I found a little tough but that’s the nature of the fish, the flavours was amazing, the butter sauce brought all the flavours together. The halva ice cream was an amazing ending to my experience at Tartarun. I might be back soon to try the prawn carpaccio…I gave my self even more reasons to return to Malta. Wanted a superb fish experience. Service was good but the meal was seriously over priced for the food. Seabass cooked in salt was 97 euros. Beautiful fish but served at the table like it was a cod. No finesse. There were people in the restaurant that clearly the staff were more bothered about, presumably VIPs in their books. How this place doesn’t have a flat out 5 stars is strange. Honestly this has been one of the very best restaurants I have ever visited in Malta. We tried all the small bites and starters on their menu. And ALL the dishes didn’t fail to impress ! An absolute highlight for anyone visiting malta. Go for it! Trust me!
