Best BBQ around. Service Dine in Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
This was one of the worst representations of Texas BBQ I have ever eaten in my life. The brisket was dry, the sausage tasted like it was boiled and it turned to mush in my mouth. The ribs were absolutely disgusting, the potato salad was blended like a smoothie. The baked beans tasted like they were straight from the dollar store. Maybe they were just having a bad day. I hope they can do better. I'm not a food expert, but damn that was bad food today. Get someone in there that actually knows how Texas BBQ should be done. Stepping into Straight Off The Barbeque, I felt like I'd hitched a ride on a smoker and landed in BBQ nirvana, a far cry from my Californian kale-scape. Let me tell you, if joints like this dotted the Golden State, we'd trade our surfboards for sauce mops overnight! The feast was nothing short of a carnivorous ballet, where ribs pirouetted and brisket took a bow. It was like the chef whispered sweet nothings to the meat, and it just fell off the bone in sheer bliss. I half expected the pork to stand up and take a curtain call! Now, onto the local flavor - and I'm not just talking about the sauce. I'd heard whispers of a waitress with a penchant for sharing more than just the specials. Drama, they said, was her side dish of choice. Intrigued, I waltzed in, ready to swap tales from the coast for some homegrown gossip. Alas, it seems the winds of change had blown through the BBQ joint. Perhaps the owner had a heart-to-heart, or maybe she'd found a more attentive audience in the form of a sympathetic brisket. When I tried to engage, hoping for a juicy tidbit or two, all I got was a "it's all good" served with a side of professional courtesy. No tales of woe or whispers of scandal - just a commitment to the craft and a focus on the food. I must admit, I was a tad disappointed; who doesn't love a sprinkle of drama with their dinner? But let's not let a side of silence overshadow the main event. The BBQ at Straight Off The Barbeque speaks volumes, and it's all saying, "Eat me!" In a world where drama often steals the spotlight, it's refreshing to find a place where the food - succulent, smoky, and sensational - is the true star of the show. So, from a Californian with a newfound appreciation for the Texan way of life (and dining), I tip my hat to Straight Off The Barbeque. You've shown me that sometimes, the best stories are told not through words, but through flavors. And for that, I thank you. I went in with my buddies for some good Texas barbecue and this place did a fantastic job. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
First time and last time coming here. I didn’t make it past the order counter because of how obnoxious and rude the cashier was. She had a messy bun, grey shirt, blonde, and was working the evening shift on 02.17.2024. Me and my mom walked in and after looking at the menu and having our minds made up, the lady was taking her sweet time talking about her life “problems” with the customers for about 8 minutes. We were looking at her to try to get her attention but she was clearly ignoring us on purpose. We walked out and found a better restaurant. I personally believe she is racist. What bothers me is that she is probably type of person to yell at minimum wage fast food workers for not having her kid’s happy meal ready in under 3 minutes and then treat her own customers far worse. I felt the entitlement. Other reviews seem to agree. Just ignore the place. There is better food out there.
First time coming to this place for a good dinner but the lady in the register with the messy bun was more interesting in telling the party in front of us her life problems than taking our order, we were there trying to get her attention but she ignored us. So we decided to go to another place. Thank God they're not the only ones. They say "support local" businesses, well we try. Service Dine in Meal type Other Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Arrived a few mins before closing, which is something we don't usually do, so we were going to take our food to go but the lady behind the counter was so sweet and had no problem letting us sit down to eat. That spoke volumes to me. The food came out pretty quick. Was hot, fresh and delicious. I recommend the stuffed baked potato. There's nothing like a small hometown business that is successful. 👍👍 I'll be back for sure. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I ordered 2 meat plate (Ribs and Moist Brisket) with a side of mashed potatoes and white gravy and green beans. The meat portions are very generous!! The brisket was fall apart tender and very savory! The BBQ sauce at the table was delicious as well. The ribs were a dry rub but were very tender. They needed a little more seasoning but they had a lot of great smoke flavor. The mashed potatoes were perfectly seasoned and the gravy was great. The green beans were just ok. Great Texas smokehouse atmosphere with plenty of room to sit comfortably. Would come back! Sad I never came here when I lived in Crosby years back!
