This restaurant has steadily going downhill since it opened. What used to be one of the best quality restaurants in town, has gone horribly wrong. When they first open it was clean, the food was fresh and hot, and it actually looked like the menu pictures. Now, if you go in, and especially if you try the drive-thru at night, you will be disappointed. It's just another mediocre fast food restaurant now. **EDIT** Restaurant is now permanently closed.

I believe his name was Harley, he's always kind and had always made sure my order was correct. That kind of customer attention is why I come back. There is also a new girl named Shania who is always kind and cheerful when she takes my order and makes sure to take care of any problems I have had promptly. Isabella was my original waitress and as I'm waiting patiently I see her cleaning up after every other waitress because they were catching up on some of the other orders. I watched her help everyone catch up without acknowledgement. These people need to be recognized

Took my grandson to eat approximately 3pm yesterday and the staff were all arguing you could hear back near the rest room. Finally got the chili we ordered after eating, yes it was cold and nasty. One lady called in a order and was waiting when we arrived and still there when we left. A staff member long black ponytail got her phone and sat at the counter, while we were still waiting on our food. Carbondale, il. Overall experience. .....terrible!

Service was slow the night I went, but the food was hot and fresh which more than makes up for it and the server at the window apologized about the wait. Between the food and professionalism of the server this review would have been 5 star if not for the long wait. But it was still worth it

Normally this Steak & Shake has been very good. But something has happened, new management or what, I don't know. The food was cold and the order was wrong and seemed to take forever to be delivered. Like I said, not normal Steak & Shake quality. For sure!
