One of my favorite places to sit and the bar and work. Pancakes make everything better. The staff are always friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. The food is fresh and well sourced and I love their mission of local, local local and saving the bees. Pro tip, go during the off hours because this place is NOT a secret! We had never been there before and were passing through on our way back to Illinois. The server was friendly and made sure to ask the cooks about some menu items that weren't certified gluten free. My husband has Celiac's and was able to get a good sized pancake that he said was delicious. My food was also amazing and I would definitely come back again if we were in the area. I was VERY excited to see vegan goetta on the menu - so much so, that this little breakfast side was the sole impetus for this visit 😆 The goetta was pretty good. I had it both on its own, as well as sandwiched inside of the “Mushrooms Run the World”. There’s a lot going on in the sandwich, but it works. In the end, the vegan goetta was not the star of the show (it *may* be impossible to beat the real thing), but the texture and flavors were solid. Logistical note: this restaurant gets *really* crowded, and despite being located in a suburb, the complex web of strip mall parking lots makes it difficult to navigate, never mind find a spot. This was an awesome breakfast experience. The food is perfect. The gluten free buckwheat pancakes are excellent! The coffee is smooth! My daughter got the latte with oat milk -- loved it!
