Food is decent barbecue sauce is loose. Service was excellent but the barbecue left much to be desired. Smoked Mac and cheese was good but came out cold. Came here for a date on Wednesday during karaoke night. The atmosphere & vibes were so cool! People were just there to have a good time. The view of the lake was awesome. Food was good! I had the brisket quesadillas...10/10 SO GOOD!!!! Service was lacking initially but progressed through the night. Definitely coming back with friends! Driving on the way to Austin (from Memphis TN), stopped by Sideways BBQ in Rockwall as it was one of the few BBQ joints open late on Christmas Eve. Called up, kitchen was about to close but the lady I spoke to was nice enough to take my order in advance. I ordered. 1/2 lb of brisket (lean meat so less fat) and the 1/2 lb of seasoned pork ribs. Arrived for pickup, requested one of each type of BBQ sauce, and made payment. We ate food inside the car as we had brought our dog and it was too cold/windy to eat outside. Brisket was decent, but pretty good. Came with a Mac and cheese side and that was decent too. House sauces were likewise ok, but I liked the spicy one slightly more. Seasoned pork ribs were definitely the best of the lot. We actually devoured that completely, and it got over first. I would rate the ribs itself as "A-" as it was pretty great. Also authentic Texan BBQ and meat, which is solid. All in all, would recommend this spot and honestly for the pork ribs I'd recommend getting 1 lb especially if expecting to share it w/ others. Atmosphere was fantastic,food was great..recommend the Cowboy Caboodle…it’s delicious..staff was great, it was Karaoke Friday night very talented participants…just not many tables for groups or for your dates. This was my 1st time coming here, and it was great from start to finish. A waitress greated us at the door and let us know where we could sit. We chose the outdoor seating to enjoy the views of the lake. The turkey was amazing,so moist, and greatly priced. We were here on a Saturday night, so the live music was a great atmosphere to enjoy the night and watch the sunset. Meal type Dinner Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

It was a Monday, so they didn't have the full menu. The server suggested a quesadilla, which I got, and my husband did the nachos. I thought the quesadilla was on point. The sauce it comes with is amazing, though they do give you some sour cream as well. I was really impressed. The person that was our server was okay and didn't really come around to refill drinks. Got a water, and it tasted like dirt. but the draft beer 🍺 was on point. I would go back. We sat outside, and it was a great day, though you heard the music from the restaurant next door more than the restaurant we were at. Food quality, definitely lacked what was said on the menu. The brisket was only prepared moist and lacked flavor. The sausage link was good with a slight spice. The Mac and cheese noodles were a little undercooked but tasted good. The fried okra wasn't bad but the taste was slightly off. The waiter was very helpful and respectful/polite. Regarding the taste of the dessert, banana pudding is not the best for flavor or texture. Not a place I care for but might be good for others. Let’s start off by saying had we not been with family members who had not eaten because of a long day of travel, and the fact it was late, we would have left when we saw the condition of the restaurant's silverware. The condition of the forks and knives was unsanitary. Several of the forks and knives still had residual food on them and the rest were poorly cleaned.. I had to wet paper towels and add hand soap to manually clean the utensils. In the end we used plastic wear. Some of the food was over cooked but still given to us to eat. The main meals were better but the sausage links were overcooked and charred. For the prices I don’t recommend the establishment. The level food quality does not match the price point. This is the first time that my husband and I have ever been here, it was so nice the only thing that wasn't was waiting on the bartender to serve us another beer. A waitress kept saying she had to wait on the bartender, plus she got my order and my granddaughter's wrong. I was supposed to have pickled jalapeno peppers with sausage and chopped brisket and she had a chopped brisket sandwich. We had our sides right, but she got the sandwiches wrong and my granddaughter didn't eat because it burnt her mouth. It was kind of pricey so I'm not sure if we'll go there again, but the food was excellent. So we might or might not be back, I'm pushing on going back not with so many people. I would recommend this place to a lot of people because the atmosphere is fantastic, you can look out over the lake and it's a beautiful sight.

Listen.. the brisket IS good like all the reviews say but that’s about it…. Service was mediocre, the sides were extremely disappointing(mac&cheese was very under cooked), and the music Was really loud. The view and brisket are the reason for the two stars.
