Great location for business dinners, dates, or time spent at the bar. Quality food and service. I have been here multiple times and the they make sure that all is to your liking and that you feel like you are welcomed as a special guest. Chef Ed and staff are top notch. If you haven't been to Shoemakers recently, you are absolutely missing out on Lynchburg's finest restaurant! We have now been twice within the past week. Last Friday we took a couple of friends and were blown away by the experience. The staff was genuine and friendly-from the hostess, to the waitstaff, to the Food and Beverage Manager to the Head Chef. Each and every person we dealt with was as nice and professional as I've ever experienced here in the Burg. The food and drinks are absolutely spectacular. Plenty of handcrafted cocktails, and the bar tender even went off menu to make my friend his favorite drink. The food is so fresh and cooked perfectly. All four of us raved about our specific meals to each other...My friend and I had the lamb shank, and if you want a treat go get that tonight. I promise you will not be disappointed. All in all, our experience was so good, we went home, and the next day booked a Birthday celebration at Shoemakers for the following Thursday. That experience was even better, if you can believe that!!! There were nine of us, and we had a private room and what seemed like our own entire private waitstaff. We had so many people come in and out bringing drinks and dishes, clearing plates...and each and every one of them were so nice and attentive. Our water glasses never reached bottom. They brought out bread and butter whenever asked...and again, the food was the best around. Both nights the chef stopped by to see how our group was doing. It is just such a great atmosphere, with great people and great food. Get out to Shoemakers soon...I promise you will not be disappointed!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We really enjoyed our server, she was prompt friendly and knowledgeable. Very comfortable atmosphere and stylish, perfect place for a special time. The menu does not have anything available for what children may want to eat, keep that in mind if you have little ones. I tasted mixture of flavors I never tasted before that was little fun but all a good steak needs is fire. I love to take my family to special places on special dates to eat, it would be very easy to make little changes to be more menu welcoming for families. Thank you we enjoyed being there. What a gem! I had searched for a special place to celebrate my birthday and Shoemakers did not disappoint. The service was excellent from start to finish and the food was superb. The lamb shank was huge and the best we've had anywhere. The chef himself came out to chat with diners and struck up a conversation with us. He explained that he gets his lamb and everything else from nearby farms, except for the fish that he has flown in from Iceland. Wow! Ed is German and we all shared stories of our German heritage. He sent out deserts on the house for my birthday, which was so nice. If you are near Lynchburg and appreciate fine dining, you must try Shoemakers! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Absolutely blown away by Chef Scholly and Chef Brooke’s work, we had an amazing experience and drove a long way just to try these highly anticipated entrees and they did *NOT* disappoint! Our server Jackie was so sweet and so very accommodating, we left full and inspired. They have truly gone the extra mile for us and made sure our experience was a 12/10 visiting from out of town. We have full intentions of returning again and again just to make a stop at Shoemakers. You absolutely have to try the lamb shank, recommended by Chef Brooke. It was succulent and full of flavor, everything was absolutely delectable and carefully crafted. Even the cocktails were 10/10! The caramel apple tart and Good Things Come in Pears martini was an excellent way to finish out the evening. Don’t walk, RUN to Shoemakers!! Filet was delicious and perfectly cooked, as were the crispy Brussel sprouts and crab cake. The detail and flavors of each dessert were unique and incredible taste.
