Very nice restaurant! The staff was extremely friendly and polite. The prices are fantastic and the food is amazing. Highly recommend the Panang Curry. Also recommend the Thai Tea. Large bowl of curry with bowl of rice, which is more than enough for one person. You could share if you wanted. The place was busy for lunchtime crowd. Always a great sign.

Great lunch specials every day. I always try Pad see ew. Flat noodles with pork. It was really good! Some places make it too dry or don't have an equal balance of broccoli and meat. Sawadee did a great job! I also like their lunch specials - choose two small dishes with rice. Lots of good choices! Good Thai place!

I stopped by with a group from work after a meeting. The service was a bit slow but the food was good and the atmosphere was nice. I really enjoyed the Shrimp Shooters and Drunken Noodles. I would suggest to stop by if you have some time and are looking for good Thai.

A beautifully decorated place with relatively fast service! There is a parking spot next to the restaurant. We waited for a minute at the front because it was a little busy but got attended to shortly! Our waiters were friendly. Food was DELICIOUS we ordered the Pad Se Ewe noodles along with curry which came with rice and a side dish. Good experience, the tables were clean and the ambience of the place was very unique! Would recommend.

First time at this restaurant and it was a great experience. The atmosphere was relaxing, the service was fast and the food was delicious. The carrot chunks were a bit too large in the yellow curry but that’s a personal preference. The crispy spring rolls were excellent. Forgot to take a pic of the food but did get an atmosphere shot.

So the place looks amazing. I figured that being downtown and with such a classy looking place and the reviews, this place would be great to try out just before Christmas. The ambiance is amazing. The lighting, the feel, but I was disappointed with the food. Flavor felt like an afterthought. I ordered the Pad Thai because it's a staple and poplar and you really can't go wrong with that, but the meat was chewy, and the flavors didn't taste right. The noodles and meat were not cooked with the flavor. They were cooked bland and the sauce added after the fact. Or that's what it tasted like. Felt cheated of authenticity. The portion size was great, but for the price and location, I expected far more of an authentic flavor. The staff didn't seem very friendly or engaging which was odd as there was Christmas music playing and a Christmas spirit all around. The whole experience felt dead. It was disappointing.

Danny's Review: Brace yourselves, guys! I'm about to shout from the mountaintops my undying love for Sawadee Thai Restaurant in the heart of Salt Lake City, Utah. Without a shadow of doubt, this gem of a restaurant is the gold standard for authentic Thai cuisine in the Beehive State.
Prepare your taste buds for a tantalizing journey. I mean, the Authentic Shrimp Pad Thai? It's an explosion of flavor that leaves you starstruck, questioning everything you've ever known about Thai food. Every bite is like a dance of textures and flavors that'll make you want to stand up and give a standing ovation!
Their dinner service, which kicks off at the magic hour of 7 PM, is an extravaganza of culinary masterpieces that will send your palate on a whirlwind tour of Thailand. Each dish is a symphony of authenticity, basking in its unapologetic messiness and gooey glory. Trust me, folks, you're not just eating food here - you're embarking on an epicurean adventure!
But what really sets Sawadee apart? It's the love and soul they pour into each dish. It's as though you're being wrapped in a warm culinary hug that speaks of distant places and vibrant culture. It's more than a meal – it’s a heartfelt invitation to experience the vibrant culture of Thailand, right here in Utah.
Hats off to Maggie, Matt, and Steven for creating an oasis of taste that welcomes everyone with open arms. Their dedication to the craft of Thai cooking is evident in every mouthful, and their passion for their culture shines through every plate served.
So, if you're yearning for an authentic Thai experience, look no further! Whether it's the wallet-friendly lunch special or the after-dark authentic Thai hours, you're guaranteed a gastronomic delight at Sawadee. It's not just a dining experience, it's a rendezvous with Thai culture that you'll want to revisit time and again.
See you there, everyone! Sawadee, we will meet again soon!

Levi's Review: I have to say that, though I've tried quite a bit of Thai food, I now know it's always been of the unauthentic variety. I can't quite express the extent of the change that occurred in my perceptions of Thai food after my visit to Sawadee. Every dish became my new favorite; every flavor was perfectly balanced. I could go on and on about the effect this food had on me, but I'll sum it up by saying I had three favorite dishes.
In terms of pure flavor, the steak with sticky rice won out. It was perfectly cooked, and the meat with the sauce was excellent; but when paired with the sticky rice, it elevated to divine.
In terms of emotional response, the Massaman short rib was phenomenal. The comfort food of comfort foods, it made me want to curl up in front of a fire with a good book.
Finally, in terms of overall experience, the Shrimp Pad Thai reigned supreme. I went in with one idea of Pad Thai and left with an entirely different paradigm. The flavors were perfectly complementary, and the textures worked together to create a truly complete sensory experience.
Thank you, Sawadee. I will certainly be returning. - Levi

I love a good Thai food restaurant. I’ve been back twice now and I can’t get enough of the food! Everything we ordered tasted amazing and fresh! I love the aesthetic and decor inside. There’s outside seating as well. I love the little touches like fresh flowers they have at every table. The service is fast and the menu has lots to pick from.

Great little place with fantastic food. The shrimp appetizers were great, the chicken skewer with peanut sauce was tasty, and the spring rolls were delicious. I got the massaman curry with chicken and it was so good I could leave any behind. I'll be back when to this place when I'm in town.
