My best girl and I waited for ages for this gem to open, and we were not disappointed!
The menu is unique, and the portions were generous. I ordered one of the salads and opted for additional spiced shredded chicken. It was a lot more chicken than expected and I was stuffed! Yum!
My best girl tried a few custom tacos and was so pleased with the table's hot sauces that she bought one (through Amazon) before we were finished: Carolina Reaper + blueberry!
Our server was top-notch, a younger guy with glasses. He was on the spot with perfect suggestions and a dash of enthusiasm.
Be patient with parking. It's somewhat limited, but the turnover rate is steady.
Highly recommended for those who seek out new food experiences in a beautifully decorated establishment.

We Rock Taco Salad
Last night was our fourth visit for dinner and it's been nearly perfect every time.
Drinks: They have great cocktails and a solid beer list.
Atmosphere: We love the care they've taken with a redesign of a building that's been a restaurant for a long time. There are a lot of TVs upstairs, though, which takes a way from what could be a very cool space.
Service: Our servers and the bartenders have been friendly and helpful each time
Food: We've enjoyed nearly everything we've eaten. Portions are large, so we don't find ourselves ordering appetizers. The Dirty Bird is so, so good. One of those dishes I'm sure I'll find myself craving. Funky Fresh Fish and Grits is good--different, but great flavor. The only miss we've had are the flautas--the filling seemed to fall out during cooking, which made them a little disappointing. Trying a selection of tacos allows you to sample the elements of main dishes before choosing a more substantial meal.
We really love this place. We'll be back for sure. It's a great addition to some other fantastic restaurants in the area.

With so many great Mexican restaurants in Rock Hill, Rock Taco has entered a tough market. This feels very familiar to the time a local brewery tried to open a high end taco restaurant near Riverwalk.
Would I go back to Rock Taco, sure. Will it be my first choice for Mexican or tacos - nah.

We went to try the place after waiting a long time for it to open. I saw some of the negative reviews, but I can only imagine how hard it is to open a new place. Plus this is the same owner as Burgers and Barley which is pretty reliably good. The atmosphere is a 10, and they really put a lot of money into the place. Our server Aleah, surely spelled wrong, was fantastic. I got the fish and grits and my wife got the shrimp quesadilla. It was nice and hot when it arrived. We had a few drinks as well. We are big tequila fans, and this is the only place I have ever seen that has legit tequilas at the bar. I saw Fortaleza, El Tesoro, Codigo, Arrete, and many more. If you know, you know these aren't at most bars. On the way out we spoke to the owner and he is super kind. Our table was on the second floor and had a great view of main street. To the guy in the silver Porsche, we got to see you try to parallel park. It gave us all a good laugh.
