We enjoy Rivera's each time we go. The food is great and the service is fast. It is a quaint little spot right off 75 and close to a gas station. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
100% TexMex - this is NOT LaPlacida. No curtido, few if any papusas or tamal. Good food served on giant plates (normal portions). Wonderful staff kept our chips and salsa topped off and got our food out to us promptly. Comfortable location, very popular with the gringos. My wife and I met friends here - she had the taco dinner w/r&b with one shrimp, one fish, and one pastor taco (12) - loved it. I had their cheese chili relleno with ranchero sauce on top (11.5) and an order of flour tortillas (3) - good plate of food. Our friends had Tejanas enchiladas dinner(15), a large Margarita (7) and the nachos appetizer (11) - they loved theirs as well. Competency is their strong suite - they didn't broaden my horizons, but everything worked well. I'll be back, but I'm still looking for more El Salvadoran and Honduran places. I definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone who visits Grayson county TX. I had their torta al pastor and Mexican beer in my visit last autumn. I'm back in Dallas now, but I'd give this place another visit. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Had the Chicken Enchilada dinner yesterday, and a margarita on the rocks. Delicious! My second visit. Consistent quality both visits. Large variety menu. I am picky, and I highly recommend this restaurant. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

What a shining star in a sea of average. Between Anna, Van Alstyne and North McKinney there must be eleventy-million tex-mex restaurants. Most are average. Rivera's is way above that. I judge a Mexican restaurant on either its mole or chili relleno. They don't have mole but the CR was absolutely delicious. The batter was very fluffy which is hard to find and it had just the right mix of cheese and chicken. The portion size was great and the price was just right. Salsa and chips before the meal was way better than average. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We were here 10 months ago and rated Riviera's 5 stars. Back again and it still has great food and good prices. I had the brisket burrito and my husband the 3 cheese enchilada plate. Yum! We had the same server, Sebastian, and he was ever the gentleman. BTW, if you get Sebastian, say the words "Pink Flamingo" and he will get you a free water! (It's a joke, but he is in on it. Do it, its worth the laugh!) Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Chicken Fajitas
Definitely mediocre to poor food, at best. I read the reviews before going and was really surprised how my experience was totally opposite of what others said. The gal working Mon, 9/19/2022, (waitress?) was very rude - no smile, no "Thank you", no eye-contact, no social-skills at all. She was this way to the other 3 tables who were dining in, too. Do yourself a huge favor and drive 5 more minutes East to Arroyo's - much better food, and truly genuinely warm staff at Arroyo's. This waitress at Rivera's Salva in Van Alstyne was the only one working the dining room. It wasn't busy. She was rude & unable to explain sauces in English (or, refused to). We ordered "to go" Dinner size Enchilada platter, a burrito, and Steak Fajitas - hardly any meat in the meals, and way too much Queso on the burrito. The Fajitas had enough meat for maybe 2 small tacos, and hardly any grilled green peppers/onions (actually, there was 3 slices of green pepper and maybe 2 tablespoons of onions). Pretty sad. Their salsa was good, but I can make that myself. Appx $40.00 - lesson learned. Hopefully, I can save you from this same fate. Trust me, go to Arroyo's. Wow this was great. Wide variety on the menu. Yayantique was really flavorful. And one of the better chicken tortilla soups I've had. Great experience my first time here! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30
This place is delicious! This was my third time to eat at Rivera's and each time it gets better! I tried the enchiladas (one of each...chicken sour cream, cheese with queso and beef with queso) and my husband had brisket nachos and neither of us were disappointed. Oh, and my favorite are the pupusas! Will definitely be trying new entrées each time I visit. And yes, pics were taken after we started eating 🤣🤣
