Being of Indian descent, I am very particular with restaurant Indian food and am pretty skeptical about how much I would like it in more remote places around the world. (Best I have ever had was in Cairns, Australia and worse was in Niseko, Japan if you are curious to know). This is all based on personal preference and taste, of course - I like my Indian food more spicy, less sweet. So when I came across Raja and read the polarizing reviews, it was the only time I can recall that I was on the fence about trying it so I started off with momos only one night and seeing how good those were, I went for the chicken biryani the next day. Both were spectacular and really hit the spot after a long day on the slopes.
Please try it if you feel that you may have a palate similar to mine, but do be sure to try it on a night where you have a bit of cushion with time since it does seem like they may be struggling with operations. I really hope they get some help in that area because it is the only thing affecting their patronage. Otherwise food is A+!

Raja is primarily a to-go restaurant - order ahead online and pick up. Everything is made fresh to order, spice levels can be chosen per entree and when you pick spicy they make it SPICY!! Can't wait to keep trying something new each time. So far the cheese naan and the butter chicken were *chef's kiss* perfect for a cold winter night! Fair prices for the amount of food. Order extra - makes great leftovers the next day too!

We've eaten at Raja three times now and love it! Theirs is a unique take on Indian food - it's the dishes you know but with a slightly different and super yummy flavor profile, making you feel like it's actually home-made and deliberately created. Lots of veg options and customizable spice levels.
To answer all the complainers down below, yes, during leaf peeping season it may take a while - plan ahead - but normally it doesn't take any longer than regular takeout.

Our dinner was delicious! This is a do-not-miss place in Stowe! We got takeout- be warned, their entrance is hard to find (you need to walk along the driveway to the back of the building), but it is well worth it. Take out was delicious. Been thinking about it eve since - I can’t wait to eat here again!
