We were at a group of 18 and the waiter was very pleasant and organized. The ladies that ordered the pork schnitzel said it was one of the best they’ve had. Some of us had the special which was a pastry with cream chicken in it. It was good. Could’ve been a little warmer. The glasses of wine seemed like a very small pour for the price they were charged. A historical setting with a great farm to table upscale menu. Wonderful place for a romantic meal or a casual get together. We ate at the Stone House. We had been there maybe 20 years ago and still a wonderful experience it's only gotten better over time. Be sure to check out the tunnel between the Stone House and the Barn. I was invited here along with my wife for her company's Christmas party. I was VERY impressed! It's has a charming, rustic, old-world atmosphere. Their Old Fashioned is PERFECT as-well-as their steak and seafood. Their deserts are to die for! The service is top notch as well. I HIGHLY recommend Quivey's Grove and will be going back. The tavern (the lower priced restaurant on site) was a fun, low-key place to eat after visiting the epic campus nearby. My son and I both liked our fish, although it wasn’t amazing. Maybe I should’ve gone with the white fish instead? They were really nice and made a fresh pot of coffee for me because I was tired. My friend had the salmon salad and said it was good and more than he could eat. Maybe I should’ve gone with the salmon salad? My one real complaint is that I was seated up next to a wall on the edge of the room that I would guess is the former barn door. My seat was so slanted that it was uncomfortable to sit in. I leaned to the side, the entire meal. Given that we aren’t in this area very often I didn’t feel like complaining, but I would beware of sitting there for any length of time. The food is really good. Usually I’m skeptical of how fish is prepared in Midwest because it’s pretty bland most of the time. However the lake trout was really good. The texture was perfect, soft meat but crispy skin. The seasoning was amazing. The steak was melting in my mouth. The salmon was perfectly cooked but needed a bit more seasoning. I only took one star out because I wish the plating was a bit better. The food was ok. The barn was interesting. I would warn that if you ask them not to use a particular ingredient, you might still get it. Went here twice with coworkers at their request. First visit, I plan to return when I'm back in the area. I had the Schnitzel Hinesville. Our waiter suggested the gravy and said to make sure I used the lemon ... O. M. G. it was perfection! We had our wedding at Quivey's Grove and it was phenomenal! Bryon, the wedding planner, was incredibly helpful and patient throughout the process. The wait staff and bartenders were friendly and polite. Those bartenders got everyone served quickly and the drinks were flowing. The BBQ chicken was expertly smoked, juicy and delicious! There wasn't a snag in the process and they accommodated our guests dietary restrictions without a hiccup. If you're over the glam and glitz of planning a wedding, everyone trying to sell you something more expensive than what you want. Then Quivey's grove is the place for you. I appreciate their outdoor dining experience. What you trade in more limited service you gain in waiting time. Less than one old fashioned of waiting time to get a table in the big tent. Food was quickly delivered fresh. Was happy with the fried cod - crispy not soggy and served with lemon and rye bread. All the necessities for a good Friday night fish fry. I forgot Quivey's was here, haven't been there in years, then my wife and went for our anniversary and absolutely loved it! Came back 2 weeks later with friends. We had a nearly private dining room on the 2nd floor. Fantastic food, and a truly special one of a kind atmosphere.
