That was my first time going (I went with a local person that said you gotta try this place) I was impressed/ country style/ good country cooking/ nice employee & esp our waitress !! There were six in our party so we had to sit on the drafty porch area. Aunt Peggy was cold. We had plenty of room to sit comfortably, and the service was good and the food was delicious. Cheerful waitress 😁 and we all ordered extra fish because it was served hot and fresh and we knew it would be great and we all left with our bellies full, picking our teeth and wish we weren't too full to order a slice of lemon box Cake? I think that's what they called it, but we didn't know about it when we ordered all that extra fish 🐠. That's our excuse to come back again next time we get to see Aunt Peggy in Alabama. Thanks y'all we'll be back and maybe we can grab a seat by the fireplace so Aunt Peggy don't freeze 🥶. Conveniently located, this restaurant is always busy, they do have a large area in the front, so you can sit and wait for your table. The restaurant is clean and has a nice atmosphere with a fireplace in the winter. The staff is plentiful, friendly and professional. The fried catfish filet was very good, one piece is a large portion with two sides. The onion rings were excellent, light and crispy. They were served with a sauce that I liked very much, a smoky honey mustard maybe. The baked beans were a bit tangy for me but were ok. The BBQ is always a winner. Three people in our party got the fish sandwich and said it was very good ( it is served with cheese). To me it is a bit pricey (1 piece of fish and 2 sides $12.00) but the food is good. Bbq is always good. Catfish too. I prefer sauce on the side. We’ve eaten there for years. It can get really busy, but they are fast. And the wait staff do a good job of keeping your drink refilled. We love this place. We recommend it regularly. The food is reasonable and good. That being said, I have to be honest about the fried green tomatoes. They are pathetic and are obviously premade from some food supplier. The tomato is heavily battered and the tomato itself was almost thin enough to read through it. For such a wonderful restaurant, it is insulting to serve those. It would be better to take them completely off the menu than to serve them. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
