If you like Chicago style hot dog stand foods then this is the place for you! Excellent Italian sausage and everyone claims the Italian beef is even better. I'm from the Chicagoland area and have been to a few of the Portillo's locations and I've gotta say, this was the cleanest location I've visited. The floors are clean (not sticky) and the service was great. From ordering to picking up my meal at the counter, everyone was professional and friendly. The countertops, fountain drink area, tables, floors and bathrooms were all clean - they even had someone wiping down the doors handle after someone entered/left the establishment. I had a beef, wet, with giardiniera peppers, cheese fries and a large drink. Everything was hot and fresh. Would definitely stop in next time I'm in the area! Driving through Illinois on our way to Missouri and we couldn't NOT stop to get a Chicago hot dog. The drive-through employees were awesome when I asked to add something to my order mid way through the line. Everyone was super accommodating. My friend took me there. Never been there before. I really enjoyed myself. Really good food. Nice employees, they are so friendly. Ambiance had me looking everywhere and everything. My friend is originally from Chicago area and she said it was just like going home again. I think the best part was just watching to see how happy she was.
