Gourmet pub food with local beers. I had the breakfast burger and some sautéed Brussels sprouts. Delicious! The Brussels sprouts were cooked in garlic and lemon. I don’t really like Brussel sprouts and I could not stop eating them!! I took half home and had a meal the next day. The restaurant has an old pub feel and an eclectic vibe. You can't come to Southwest Harbor and not stop by Peter trout's. This is truly the most scenic view in Maine. the best crab cakes on the Earth And the best whiskey selection I've ever seen. I had the fried fish sandwich. It was delicious and huge! Crispy breading and flaky white fish. The table split tinned fish as an appetizer. We shared four different tins and they were all delicious. Lunch was great and it would be a great spot for a beer and snacks. I loved the atmosphere, it had a great view of the harbor. We stayed here and tried to eat here. Restaurant: Walked in, multiple servers walked right up within a few feet, made eye contact and then ignored us.Finally one server said we need you to sign in (put your name and phone number where anyone can see it) even though the list was all checked off and we were the only people waiting for a table. We signed in, waited a few more minutes and we're still ignored. Not a greeting or positive engagement at all.We ended up finding another place to go. Staying here: room was clean and comfortable. Nice view of the boats coming and going. Parking is across the street in a small lot and we had a few times we couldn't get a spot until someone left. Excellent hot water and clean bathroom. About 20-40 minutes from most of Acadia's main attractions. The room was reasonably quiet except one thing. The restaurant door below slams shut all day long and shakes the room. It is literally every minute from opening until hours after closing because servers are dealing with people seated outside. The two nights they were closed were peaceful. Our final day there we couldn't take the slamming anymore and left the night before we were supposed to check out. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4
