The restaurant is a wonderful new option in our neighborhood. While the prices for menu items are reasonable, I do wish they offered a wider and heartier selection. The ambiance is very pleasant! Service Dine in Meal type Other Price per person $20–30 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

We ate at Oak and Ember with friends for the first time tonight (New Year’s Eve) and enjoyed our visit overall. We live in a nearby town and were pleased that such a lovely old building was again put to good use. The atmosphere there is really nice, and staff members were friendly and welcoming. Our waitperson did a great job. Beverages and a dish of delicious bread and butter were delivered soon after we were seated. We were seated at a small table but had plenty of room for everything, and it felt private enough. Our compliments to the chefs! Everything we ordered tasted delicious and was perfectly seasoned. None of us required additional salt or pepper on our meals. There is no question that the O&E chefs are extremely talented. We don’t eat heavy meals in the evening any more so, in general, small portions are usually adequate for us. However, in the case of the “main dish” I chose, which was the Butternut Squash with a yogurt dressing (minus the harissa) for $23, four pieces of squash felt like too little. The taste and texture of this dish (the light and flavorful creamy yogurt, perfectly tender roasted squash, and those crispy crumbs!) was simply amazing - so good that I wish there had been more of it (or perhaps something complementary along side the squash to give the plated meal a bit more depth). Thankfully, there was one last small piece of that wonderful bread to enjoy with my meal! To sum up, we greatly enjoyed our visit to O&E overall. I only wish my “main dish” was just a tad more hefty. It was delicious, and I would have loved to have had a little more of it! So there’s my review! Thanks for listening!
