I put off trying this restaurant for literally months for a variety of reasons, and I am full of regret. I could have been partaking in this ambrosia on the regular all this time had I not been so stubborn. I ordered the #4 which is the fries with cheese sauce, steak, pico de gallo, and sour cream. The order was set to be ready in 20 minutes and they were finishing preparing it when I arrived. I am not kidding you when I tell you that my food smelled so good the entire way home it was distracting. When I opened the container though I was shocked by how nice the meal looked assembled. They don’t just pile it all together in a mess in the box. It’s nicely spread out and the sauces are evenly applied. And when I tell you that the taste actually made me emotional, I am not kidding. It was so so good. Perfectly spiced and seasoned with just the right amount of toppings. You could also tell they made everything fresh even though it was ordered mid-shift. The location was clean and staff were polite. I will definitely be back soon! I wish I had a photo but I started eating before I knew I was going to leave a review. And honestly posting a photo mid-meal won’t do the food justice. You need to try it. Every time I come in I’m welcomed with a warm smile and a hello. I feel no pressure to order and the team is very patient. The food is freshly cooked and seasoned very well. I always feel like I’m getting my moneys worth when I order. Great food with many toppings and condiments. Service was great, had to wait a few minutes for the food but everyone was very polite. The restaurant is small but very clean and cozy, though I would recommend takeout. This is the bomb dot com, located just a block away from the siu campus open for dinner to late munchie hour , great for those who need a high Protien dinner or snack. First time eating here. Owner is a breath of fresh air. She was polite, made conversation with us, smiled and seemed to care what we had to say. Haven't seen genuine customer service in the 2 years Ive been here till now. Oh yeah, the food is different and super tasty too, lol. Here is my honest review: no seating inside and staff was not very welcoming at all. The price of my meal was $20…. That’s robbery for the quality of the meal.. the waffle fries had no flavor at all. I don’t think it was even salted. The toppings are not good at all. The steak didn’t have much flavoring and overall it was just dry and bland. Portions of toppings were mediocre for $20. These nacho are on point! The house cheese sauce is made in house and is fire! The sour cream is some of the best I’ve had! The sizes are prefect small for one persons and large is big enough for two(normal people that is) unless you are me and a large is just the right amount 😅 I have had the waffle fries and the chips, so far amazing! A little more expensive than I expected for some loaded fries, but much higher quality ingredients than I was expecting as well. Maybe the best bacon I've ever gotten from a restaurant.
