Good food, the serving staff are very nice, but it seems like there is not enough to check on their customers as they should. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for indian cuisine. The atmosphere I think would be a struggle, but the service was great. They were kind enough to let us order and eat in versus take out as we arrived 30 minutes before closing. The Mango Lassi was very good and our other food was made to order and just as tasty. Look forward to ordering from them again. As of 3/1/2024 Mt. Everest has re-instituted their lunch buffet. It is a small buffet with fresh hot food. The only downside I noticed is the salad was starting to turn brown. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
Love the food!!! We always get mild but once it was very hot. I called and told them and they remade it mild. The only inconvenience was having to drive back across town. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
So. I have ordered takeout at Mt Everest for years, it used to be one of the most consistent local places and I love all of the different vegetarian options! It's been amazing to have in town, and I always love supporting local businesses that are not of the typical chain/boring American food variety. However, Im not sure what's changed as of recently, if it's the kitchen staff or management or recipes or what, but it's been really different and very disappointing. Everyone is so kind and the place is as clean as always, but the quality and taste of the same dishes I've been ordering and loving for years have been tasteless and disappointing and vastly lower in quality lately. Ive always swapped between the Aloo curry and the paneer kadai, and the 3 times I've had it recently (last 6 weeks or so), both dishes have been bland and flavorless. Today for the rice, it was totally plain rice instead of the typical rice with herbs I've been served LITERALLY every single other time I've ordered here. The paneer kadai has been two entirely different dishes the last two times I've ordered it. The first was an almost inedible and tasteless red sauce with broccoli and tomatoes but no bell peppers, truly unsure what the mix up was there, so tried it again today hoping for what it used to be. Today, the sauce was bland (better than last time but nothing like it used to be), and it only had a total of 3 small pieces of multi colored bell peppers, and again broccoli which isn't listed as a part of the meal. It used to be a great mix of the paneer and the red and green bell peppers and onions. Truly I just miss how that meal used to be so so much, definitely confused about the changes. I also feel like the garlic naan has been way tougher than usual and I haven't been able to tear it apart as easily. I've always ordered at a spicy 1 because anything above that used to be too much for me, I'm not super tolerant of very spicy foods, and tried spice levels up to 3 a long time ago to determine what I liked best and settled at 1. Previously, the food was consistent and full of flavor and not bland at all even when it was mild, but now I'm wondering if that entire spice ranking system has changed along with the recipes. Idk I'm just sad about one of my favorite places for years tasting SO MUCH different and for the worse, I was hoping it was a one off situation and wouldn't have posted this review were it not for the three negative takeout experiences in a row. Again, I love this place and have eaten here for a really long time and it was so consistent and one of my comfort places to eat, but it's just been so disappointing and it will likely be a long while until I order here again which is a shame. I'm not going to rate it any lower because I have loved it for so long, and I will be holding out hope for the quality, flavor, and consistency to return. AMERICANIZED INDIAN FOOD It looks like new management and staff took over the place. We used to come here all the time and the food was DELICIOUS. However this time we came it seems like nothing has taste or spice anymore. Chicken chili momos were a bit too sweet to call it “chili”momos. The chicken tiki masala was no where near spicy even after ordering it spicy. Mango lassi tasted too much like tumeric. Overall will not be coming again and disappointed in flavor loss when new management came in. Service Dine in Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2 Recommended dishes Garlic Naan
Best Restaurant in Sherman. We love it. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I ordered catering from here and it was an amazing experience! They started offering catering relatively recently, and when I saw that I decided to give it a shot for an event and was not disappointed at all! The woman I coordinated with was extremely nice and worked with me to make sure I got exactly what I needed in terms of quantity and variety for a really good price (which you can pay for up front or half at the time of ordering and half the day of pickup)! You will need to provide your own warmers/serving utensils/plates/cutlery, but this wasn’t a big deal at all for my group. The food was delicious and was a smash hit with the group, I would definitely highly recommend! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
