An outstanding little breakfast / lunch restaurant on Highway 101. The staff is really friendly and they really hustles around the restaurant making sure everyone is served quickly and every table is set up properly with a full set of condiments and flatware. They buzz around non-stop taking care of everything. I had the strawberry waffle and coffee. It was really tasty and it was prepared quickly. The interior of the restaurant is smaller and I suspect they get very busy but I don't get the impression the service would suffer at all. Great atmosphere, for sure. This place is awesome! I highly recommend it if you're in town, or even just passing through. The omelettes are awesome, the eggs were cooked correctly, the veggies refresh and also cooked well and everything else I saw that came out on other people's plates look amazing. My hash browns were really good, however I had hoped that there were a little more of a portion. The person I was eating with seem to get a decent portion, however mine was pretty small. But they were very tasty! Expect there to be a wait when you come here, however I felt like we were seated pretty quickly considering how many people were waiting. And the service is good. The best part for me were the prices! Very affordable for the quality of food and what you get! My family home is right up the street and I will definitely be back every time I go back to visit. This place is amazing 👏 very friendly staff and customers. Very down to earth and comfy. Like being at a place back home that you frequent all the time. You get a lot of food for your price, which by the way is cheap. Clean and must be popular because this is where we mainly ate for the 5 days in brookings and it was packed with people usually having to wait, but not long. Driving down nostalgia lane of a diner experience, right by the side of US highway 101. They got a burger, omelette, and a crepe right, at the same time. Add in good service, decent coffe, and a great atmosphere. You have a winner of a breakfast place in Brookings. This will not be my last time visiting this place. What a breakfast! I got the bacon 🥓 eggs 🍳 and hashbrowns and substituted the toast with pancakes. This place really loads you up with a home style type breakfast. Nice casual atmosphere and friendly waitresses. …well, except for one but that’s ok, the food made up for it. 😀 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

Fantastic! Awesome food and awesome service! The new owners are returning Mattie's to how it used to be. Lots of positive energy! Great coffee and lots of it!, Very clean, friendly and all around a wonderful experience. Spread the word, Mattie's is back!

We had a party of nine and were told the wait would be around 40 minutes. They actually seated us in less than ten minutes. Very appreciative of that. The breakfast was the standard fare, but it came out fast and hot and the service was excellent. Would definitely go again. I am so happy I stopped at Mattie’s Pancake House. The Swedish crepe is amazing with berry flavored cream. So soft. The Mary’s special omelette with hash browns is very good too. Ate everything.
