Maruchi Restaurant in Hialeah is a great place to get authentic Cuban cuisine. The daily specials are great value, with breakfast sandwiches and dinner plates starting from around $5-6 and huge servings of Vaca Frita with sides for just $13. There is also a great selection of Cuban deli/buffet food, Cuban coffee and pre-packaged desserts. The staff are friendly and the dining area is spacious and reasonably priced. The food is delicious and there is something for everyone, from tamales to ropa vieja, grilled chicken, pork, yucca and sweet plantains, mashed potatoes and even green split pea soup. The portions are generous and the prices are good. The avocado is firm and creamy and the homemade merenguitos are delicious. The Cuban Coffee is also really good. For those who don't speak Spanish, some of the staff may not understand English, but minimal Spanish can get you what you want. The outside of the restaurant may look a bit dull, and the inside may seem outdated, but the food more than makes up for it. Highly recommended for all Cuban food lovers!
