Don’t let the modest storefront dissuade you, this little bar in St. Maarten is THE place to go to enjoy upscale liquor with charming, knowledgeable staff. Kat the bartender knows her stuff and is an incredible hostess.
I’m a planner but LuxBar was not on my radar when we headed to St. Maarten on a cruise recently. My husband was interested in purchasing some bourbon from their sister storefront, Gulmohars Liquor, across the street, and we were excited to discover we could head over here and sample some really high end liquors before committing to an entire bottle.
Wound up spending a few hours here, because the environment was so welcoming, Kat was awesome and the drinks couldn’t be better. Oh, and on a very hot and humid island, the stellar air conditioning was a welcome treat too!
Whether you want to drink your bourbon neat or you fancy some of the highest quality cocktails you’ll ever enjoy, made with local ingredients, handmade syrups, and more, you simply have to stop by this place! Kat uses her passion for culinary arts to inform the flavors in her cocktails and they were works of art! Sorry to fangirl out, but the drinks were really that good and Kat was the Luxardo cherry on top!
If you are a Blanton’s fan, they have every variety you can think of as well as Whistlepig Boss Hog varieties and more. My husband was here for the bourbon, but whatever you go to is from vodka to gin, bourbon or scotch they have it all.
I’m so glad we dropped into this amazing and unexpected little bar in paradise. We drank some terrific drinks and made some great memories. I’d come back to St. Maarten just to hang out here again, lol.
The best part was, after we spent some time at LuxBar, we were able to go back across the street to Gulmohars and purchase some of the things we had sampled, and they sent it right back to our ship!

Of Course it’s a 5-Star. You can’t exceed the quality atmosphere service and fun you will have visiting this bar. And the choices. Amazing. A definite must stop place on any visit. Maybe twice.

I would vigorously recommend going to Luxbar and having Kat the incredible bartender serve you a cocktail. The bar itself is second to none in their selection of whiskey (and in design), and you are in no better hands then Kat's hands. She is at the utmost pinnacle of her craft and her passion for what she does is clearly shown.
