Andres, the owner goes around the restaurant welcoming the guests. My go to are the charro beans, the chili relleno, the quail and the ribs. The servers are the best. My go to cocktail is a frozen Margarita with Sangria 😗😋. My son and his wife love the street tacos. My husband is restaurant quality Corona. And we have done take out too. Love how it is prepared for take out. We shall keep going to our favorite Mexican Cocina; the food, the friends, did I forget desert? The sopapillas are delicious 😋🤤. Mid afternoon, so I was the only patron there. But service was prompt and friendly, and did not hover over me. My iced tea was filled with out me asking, very excellent service! Great food all around. Authentic and very fresh Mexican food. Just wish they horchata to wash all the food down. We got filled with the chips and took the rest of our meals to go. The chips and salsa are exactly what I have in mind when I crave chips and salsa. I could eat 3 whole bowls on my own. Had a phenomenal seafood cocktail to beat the heat and my wife loved her tacos al carbon. We are excited to come back and try more! Finished visiting Brazos Bend State Park and we were craving some yummy Mexican food, I googled a few Mexican restaurants near by and came across La Cocina. It had great reviews and it didn’t look overpriced! As soon as I tried their chips and salsa, I knew everything else would most likely be delicious and I was in fact correct. Service was friendly and fast and the food was yummy and fresh. Needless to say we will be back here again.

This place is the best!!!! Their food is always so flavorful. It's a Mexican restaurant with a Nicaraguan twist!! If you come here, ask for the gallo pinto special!!!! 5 star staff and food!!

My wife and I dine out almost every night and I can say without a doubt La Cocina is one of the best Mexican restaurants not only in Richmond/Rosenburg area but possibly in all of Houston. We are never disappointed here. The food is wonderful and the staff is excellent and professional. The owner is there quite frequently and you can tell he really cares about not only his guests having a wonderful dining experience, but he also cares for his staff which really shows on how guests are treated. We are always treated like family here. Always greeted with a smile and this makes us feel so comfortable when we walk in. The entire staff is very friendly and attentive to their guests, and seem to truly care about your dining experience with them. The dining room is very casual and there is a small bar area in a separate room with multiple TV’s for watching a big game that might be on. They have incredible food and drink specials throughout the week, with each day a different special. The owner has done many updates recently and one of those is the patio. The new patio has comfortable seating and new running lights that make for a good mood and ambiance for when the weather is nice to dine outside. The food is incredible here, we have never had a bad meal in the many time we have visited. Our dinner always comes out fresh and hot, it’s all made from scratch using fresh ingredients. They have some of the best fajitas we have even tasted. We have tried most of the items on the menu and while you can’t go wrong on any of the menu items, out favorite is the street tacos which is a bit spicy but oh so good. I’m not sure what they use to give them that flavor but it’s out of this world good. I personally can’t eat just one. I usually finish the street tacos with a tasty margarita which I find can’t be beat here. They have just right with the balance between tequila and mix. They only serve breakfast on the weekends till noon, but this is not to be missed, the breakfast tacos are the best deal in town. One is enough to fill you up for the day. Many different breakfast tacos to choose from. If you are in the area or just looking for a new place to try, do not hesitate to try La Cocina. It’s a very relaxing place with a nice atmosphere where, although upbeat and fun, you can still carry on a conversation with each other without yelling across a table, great for a date night. Highly recommend.
