This place is a pretty good sushi restaurant for being 7,000 ft up! I felt like some of the rolls were too big though diameter wise. Personally, I don’t love having to take three bites out of one piece of the sushi roll. So if that’s something that you like, then you should order some of these bigger rolls. I do wish that the menu said which rolls were big. I had a mango sake drink, I don’t remember the name! It was Strong and it was good. The Gyoza was good and everything tasted great. We loved how unique the menu was to the area. I would definitely come here again, but they should consider playing some music. We were there on a Saturday night at like 7pm and it kind of felt dull in there. We waited for about 20 minutes for a table, it’s a small restaurant and it was also 7 PM on a Saturday so that’s not a big deal at all. Plus it’s downtown Flagstaff, so it was not too hard to go find something to do for a few minutes. Definitely a worthy contender when considering going out to eat for date night! If a sushi bar can survive on a street with four competing sushi bars it must be doing something right. Having fresh wasabi was an interesting offering. Has sushi as well as ramen and more traditional fare. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes RR Tonkotsu

We come here every time we’re in town and this was no exception. We had a nice lunch here today, we sat at the sushi bar which sports very comfortable seats! The atmosphere is great, service is very good, not too noisy and it had nice lighting. The restrooms are very clean. We had the tuna kaiso appetizer and a volcano roll, sweet shrimp, salmon sushi, yellowtail sushi and a bowl of miso soup. The stars were the soup and the tuna kaiso, the miso broth had such incredible depth, I could tell by looking at it how delicious it was! Sadly the raw fish which is normally my favorite wasn’t quite up to par, it was still very cold when we ate it, even after we let it sit for about 30 minutes. Raw fish is best enjoyed at room temperature, it gets a little “sweaty” as it comes up to temperature. The rice was a bit hard and sour. Overall I highly recommend this sushi, they just weren’t up to their usual high bar this time. I’m not local to the area, but a trusty family member whose judgement I trust guided lunch to this location. Karma is located in Flagstaff’s little cluster of joints but is by no means secluded. Seating for seven people is obviously a larger party than average, but the waiters were so kind and accommodating! Once we were seated, the first thing to catch everyone’s eyes was the combo: a ramen and a given dish for $20, every day from 11-3pm. Our orders were taken care of in a timely, amiable manner—the service was definitely super sweet, but that’s something I’ve noticed throughout Arizona restaurants anyways, especially among younger staff. Food came out and everything was as expected. The ramen had a good hearty broth with a good cacophony of toppings: naruto, chashu, mushrooms—the whole, typical, works. The noodles were a bit over cooked, but the restaurant was pretty flooded. The karaage was good—it was flat breaded and served with spicy mayo. The fish—sushi, sashimi, and nigiri were ordered—were not extremely fresh, but they were obviously well prepared. The fried rice was pretty decent too, about the quality I’d expect from a tiny, family owned, Chinatown located restaurant. Ginger and wasabi are served upon request and were both of good quality. All of the food was a bit salty, but we also come from a distinctly Asian household. Again, the staff was incredibly sweet! And the ambiance was really cool and chill :) Would come here again for sure! Meal type Lunch Price per person $30–50 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Amazing tasting fish/food! Definitely will be back. Yellowtail was on point. They were a little busy and some items got a little mixed up on our order…other than that 5/5!! This sake was incredible. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5
