A bright spot in Harleyville, SC. And don't let the catchy name fool you. They have more than "Just Desserts".
Long story short, I ordered the New Yorker, which was a Pastrami sandwhich that is hard to find in the Carolina's. I also ordered a cup of the Chicken Gumbo soup.
The sandwich was pretty good, but the soup was magnificent! Was it thick like a gumbo? No. Actually, the soup didn't remind me of a gumbo at all.
Regardless of the name, it was delicious. My only regret is that I didn't order a bowl to go.
I also ordered a slice of chocolate cake that I'm saving for later. It should be good with respect to the title of the shop.
Of course, the southern hospitality was on lvl 9000, and what you should expect when you are in a small town.
I will certainly be back if my travels bring me back to Harleyville.💯

A cafe oasis in a restaurant desert. Great food and hospitality in an area largely devoid of good places to eat. Highly recommend.

I found a favorite new place, several weeks ago, for a lunch sandwich and bakery items. The Rueben and New Yorker sandwiches are absolutely delicious, as are the Danishes. The staff are very friendly. Next time while traveling on I-26, near Harleyville, make sure you stop for lunch and dessert.

As promised this was excellent food, clean, friendly and delicious. The only drawbacks are limited bakery goods and cost.
