The Margherita
So I ate there for the 1st time but I already ordered several times there and I must admit that I love their pasta.
Whatever, i was really surprised when I receive the check. They charge a 18% service charge, asking you to tip on top of that. They serve you a full laius about increasing the revenue of their employees,... i asked our server what was her hourly wage (the minumum is $16.78 here in LA), and if she was really embarassed and did not want to answer. I just asked then the same question to the manager, same answer and seemed really embarassed telling me that it was different for every employee. I asked her specifically for our waiter, and asked if she was paid more than $17 per hour, same embarrassment and she did not want to answer. So my understanding is that the restaurant is keeping a big part of these 18% and serve you an hypocritical speech about their employees wellness.
On top of that, my wife, who ordered a salad, asked for some vinegar and balsamic as the seasoning was not at her taste, there was no seasoning at all in her salad in fact, and they charged an extra $2 for the balsamic and $2,50 for the olive oil!!! I never saw that before!!!!!!

I absolutely love the minimalist ambiance of this restaurant. The food is not only beautifully presented but also delicious. However, I was a bit disappointed with the portion sizes, both for the food and wine, considering the price. On the bright side, the customer service was exceptional. Our server was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel like valued guests. Overall, despite the small portions, this restaurant offers a great dining experience with its stylish atmosphere and tasty dishes.

Jon and Vinny’s is a great spot to head for dinner with friends. The menu is well designed for starting so you can taste a bunch of different things - and that we did. The pizza crust is light and fluffy with a good crunch and the pasta is very well seasoned with some nice unique flavours.
They have a great selection of natural wines - one of the waiters was knowledgeable but unfortunately one of the servers wasn’t as in the ball and needed to get verification on our questions quite a few times.

Antipasto
Jon & Vinny’s one of best restaurants in Los Angeles, specially in Beverly Hills area.
Selection of different type of pizzas with a unique way of cooking.
Their Ceaser Salad "Gem Lettuce" is one of the best salads in LA.
The lettuce itself is always perfectly crisp, the Calabrian dressing has a major kick of heat to it, and the bread crumbs on top provide even more of a crunch.
Pasta is the most famous plate of pasta in LA and probably the reason you got hooked on Jon & Vinny’s.

“Jon and Vinny’s is a hidden culinary treasure! The warm and attentive staff make you feel right at home as you step into their inviting restaurant. Their pizzas are simply heavenly, boasting thin and crispy crusts that perfectly complement the flavorful toppings. The pasta dishes are masterfully crafted, showcasing fresh ingredients and mouthwatering sauces. The cozy ambiance adds to the charm, making it a great spot for a memorable dining experience. For Italian food enthusiasts, Jon and Vinny’s is a must-try destination that never disappoints!”
not only is the food exceptional, but the staff goes above and beyond to make your dining experience memorable. The staff recommended some great dishes. I especially liked the mushroom pizza.
Parking was not easy but I was able to find parking after circling for a while.

This place is horrible. Two of our pasta dishes were undercooked. The calamari was overcooked. One of our appetizers was described by the waiter to have canned tuna. The pizza was decent.
We were promised to receive some cookies because they ran out of a few desserts. The server forgot and when we reminded him, he brought us two tiny pieces for our party of 4. There is a steep service charge and you have to pack your own leftovers. So what is the service charge for if there is no service.
I don't plan on ever coming back to this location ever again.

This is a review for takeout: It pains me to write a negative review on Jon & Vinny’s. I’ve always liked coming in to the restaurant and enjoying the delicious pasta. I even went out of the way to recommend this place to my office today. Unfortunately it was a disappointment and my coworkers were displeased.
Over $20 for what looked like a kids portion of food (and I think most kids could eat more). We were all still hungry afterward. The pasta itself tasted decent. It’s obviously better when you eat at the restaurant, but definitely doesn’t justify the price… especially since it’s just pasta and sauce with no meat (which you can’t add).
I will never order takeout from Jon & Vinny’s again. I’ll only eat at the restaurant, and even then I’ve had better for a much more reasonable price. Willing to speak to owner/manager should they reach out.
