After enjoying Beaches Museum and History Park, go to this bar which is not far away. Perfectly cooked salmon, chicken tenders and oysters are the tastiest dishes. At Joe's Crab Shack, clients may drink good draft beer, margaritas or rum. Get your meal started with delicious lemonade. Visitors don't highly appreciate flija at this place. Choose between indoor and outdoor seating. The friendly waitstaff works hard, stays positive and makes this place great. Nice views of the ocean inside and out. Food a bit pricey, but generous portions. The fish/sausage po' boy may be the cheapest thing on the menu for a quick lunch, but it's a lot of food. There are more upscale meals and drinks for those who may be celebrating. Have never had a wait getting a table here, not sure if that's good or not. But the service is fine. The hike up the handicapped ramp is long, and if you need non handicap parking there's a short dash across the street from their parking lot. There's a public beach access walkover right there if you want some sun and sand after dinner. Appears to be a sand volleyball court outside as well but I've never been there at a time when anybody was using it. We were seated immediately however waited an hour and a half for our food. It wasn’t even busy. The food was horrible, and the service wasn’t great. My son got his soda and the syrup was out. We waited 20 minutes for the server to come over so we could get a new drink. My rice was undercooked and our pasta was over fries were cold and the coleslaw wasn’t even coleslaw it was just plain cabbage. cooked. Will not go back! I found the experience a bit underwhelming compared to the vibrant, bustling spot I remember when I was younger. The fried shrimp platter was okay, hard to go wrong there. Popcorn shrimp was typical, and the coconut shrimp a tad overcooked. The white fish was just standard fare. The highlight, surprisingly, were the hushpuppies - perfectly crispy without being overdone or dry, not too bready or mushy. The place, once known for its lively atmosphere and long waits, was disappointingly half-empty. The service was a high point; our waitress was both nice and responsive. It's a bit sad to see a place once renowned for its fantastic weekend dinners and exciting activity, not quite hitting the same mark anymore. The overall experience didn't justify the price, and there was nothing compelling enough about the meal (or experience) that would make me want to come back. Artichoke dip was not good at all. Fish Tacos on the other hand hit the spot. Service was outstanding. Overall I have to say the price was extremely high for the quality. Four stars because of the service. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3
