Even though Joe Bosco is based on a fictitious person, the quality of food is in no way fictional. I got to meet the owner, sit with the owner, and she was absolutely lovely. Walked me through some of what makes them special, give me some recommendations, and was just simply a delight to be around. I tried the brisket, pulled pork, and the ribs… Every order comes with their homemade BBQ sauce and I didn’t need it to thoroughly enjoy the food they created. As for sides, their hush puppies were melt in your mouth good, the Mac and cheese was creamy and tasty and I couldn’t finish it all! Best smoked barbecue I’ve had in Northeastern Pennsylvania in a very long time. It was great! We were there at opening and they were very welcoming and chatted about the business and food. It made our trip! Worth it for the fall-off-the-bones ribs and pulled pork sandwiches. Really friendly service from the moment we stepped in. An employee explained how the menu worked since we’d never eaten there. We ordered Smoked Mac, Baked beans, Brussel sprouts, Burnt end sampler 1lb, 1/2 rack rib and a Pulled pork sandwich. It was all DELICIOUS. My personal favorite was the ribs where the meat fell right off the bone and was so tender. The next time I am in the poconos I will definitely stop by and get more bbq! Oh my! Try their food guys! Its so delicious! We tried the mouth watering bbq ribs, mac and cheese, baked beans, house special chowder and sweet tea. Thanks Debbie for the warm hospitality, you made us feel like we’re eating at home. You got there a very relaxing ambience. I can’t not put into words the warmth that we felt from the food and from the owner Deb. She welcomed us with open arms and plates full of amazing food. It truly was an experience we will never forget. The entire meal, and we had a lot, (brisket, burnet ends, Sriracha honey wings, Brussel sprouts, coleslaw, corn on the cob, Mac n cheese, ribs, cornbread, butter pecan and strawberry ice cream) was phenomenal, some of the best BBQ we have ever had. Don't get me wrong, the food was good, but nothing special to justify the 28 dollars for what you see in the pic. I could have went to a finer dining establishment for a fancier meal, yet I would have ended up paying a similar price. My party and I were still hungry and we actually ended up going to another restaurant afterwards. I can't recommend on the price to portion ratio alone. Had the 1/2 Rack of ribs w hush puppies n Brussel sprouts. All very good. Ribs all meat bbq sauce on the side. Nice spacious modern dinning area inside and outside has tables and fireplace. Had lunch on a Wednesday. Food was ok, building was clean, plenty of parking, indoor and outdoor eating, with a large covered paver patio, and employees were all nice. Great place , great experience , fantastic food! The establishment itself is inviting & gorgeous- whether dining inside or out the environment is warm , friendly & relaxing . Not many places use food of such outstanding quality or put such , thought , time & love into choosing & preparing their dishes - this is clearly & deliciously reflected in every bite ! What makes this restaurant experience even greater is the warm , friendly , efficient & accommodating demeanor of the owners and staff .
