I was blown away. My favorite thing we had was the wagyu beef sashimi. Service was excellent in the quality was outstanding. I'll be back for sure. I'm surprised I never heard of this place before. Super friendly and very attentive. This place is a cut above the rest. Might be my new favorite in the area. Believe it or not, the California roll is a must order. Yes, yes it's the "beginner" roll and not really sushi or whatever else you want to say about a California roll. But this place brings it to the next level. I should have ordered multiples. This is the North shore of Chicago's only place that I have found that has attempted to bring in modern sushi options. Novikov/Komodo/Osaka and many others in Miami, NYC, Downtown Chicago, you can expect these options. Now we have a portion of it on the North Shore. Their food is all around good. The stars of their menu are their Nigiri. 2 bites of some interesting combinations. The Wagyu pieces were delicious, but in my opinion, the simplicity of the Ikura with a quail egg yolk was sublime. I could eat just a plate of those. We had a couple of their rolls, which were good. We also had a bottle of Sake, which they had a nice selection of. I think we found our new favorite sushi place! We had dinner with family and friends last night. It was busy Sat night, but the staff and service were quite good. It is fairly small place, with tables a bit too close to each other, and not much of atmosphere to write about. The prices are on a higher end, and I expected high quality super fresh sashimi, nigiri, and rolls. The rainbow roll was ok at best, sashimi combo had fresh varied fish as I assumed to be, but without "wow" factor. The fish was cut very thin too. Hamachi carpaccio appetizer was probably the best selection from what we ordered. Downtown Winnetka is nice place to stroll around and get a dinner, bit I am somewhat of sushi connoisseur, and simply expected more. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3 Recommended dishes Hamachi Carpaccio
