An absolutely immersive experience that is delicious at every bite. Spectacular service, delicious food crafted at the highest level and a romantic, intimate atmosphere. We celebrated our anniversary and Jeune et Jolie made our experience very memorable. We selected a heated patio instead of a standard seating. The noise lever is much higher inside, closer to the bar, so we are happy about selecting the patio. The table was a bit smallish, but we managed. Our drinks and tasting menu dishes were yummy and almost too pretty to eat. The staff were accommodating, everyone acknowledged our special day, gave us a card signed by different members, started us with a surprise bubbly and ended with little “present” sweets. I'm gonna be disappointed when we get into bed and pull a blanket over us and it isn't pork." "Why does this make me feel like a child who was loved by her parents?" "You know how when you see potpourri and kind of want to eat it? This is what you wish potpourri tasted like." Honestly some of the best food I've ever had, and the wine pairing was perfect for every single course. The service was perfect, and sitting inside where we could see the kitchen made for a fantastic experience. Can't say enough good things about this place. What a fantastic evening. I think I will echo what other reviewers have already said. I was excited to finally go to jeune et jolie for dinner especially now that it has a star. I was unfortunately a bit disappointed because after a delicious and exciting amuse bouche I found the rest of the food very one note and a bit boring. Was it bad? No, but I expected more from a restaurant with a star. The veal tartare only tasted of wasabi, the scallop was a well cooked scallop but nothing exciting, the wagyu accompaniments were bland, and the dessert was savory. I’ve had more exciting meals at other san diego restaurants with no michelin stars. The only course that was very oof for us was the dessert course because none of the desserts were sweet at all. I have nothing against a more savory dessert, but there should at least be one option that is sweet. For service, our waiter did not check on us from the second to last course so no opportunity to order another drink to go with the main. We did find the patio nice and the course timing was a bit slow but not so bad. Not sure if we’d go back but maybe if a future menu seems better we would! On a more positive note, I did the new sans esprit pairings and that was a cool experience and would recommend.
