J's may have the most eclectic Menu in town. Known mostly for breakfast, lunch and dinner dont disappoint. J’s is a classic old-school family restaurant in Newberg. It reminds m e of the places I used to go with my dad for breakfast or coffee in the 70’s and 80’s. The servers are friendly and the food is pretty good. Breakfast is their specialty and they have a classic lunch and Dinner menu. My grandkids love to go to breakfast at J’s. My 101 yr old mom loves J’s and their menu of traditional plates is great. They are super sweet with her. Fish and Chips, Rueban’s, Monte Cristo, Liver and Onions, Chicken Fried Steak and the list goes on. They have fresh pies in a display by the register too! J’s is convenient just off Portland Ave with plenty of parking on their own lot. If you are hunting for some comfort food and like generous portions and that country diner feel, You’ve gotta try J ‘s in Newberg!

Been here a ton over the years. Got their annual fundraiser the Melt Down sandwich which was really good and the onion rings were quite good and I think they used red onion for them maybe. My wife Debbi and I went in on a Friday night, my first time visiting this restaurant and was immediately welcomed and seated. The tables and floors were all clean and obviously taken care of. The servers were warm and welcoming but the biggest impression was a familiar aroma of coffee and fresh food being cooked. Reminding me of my grandma's house as a child. Unlike other establishments it was warm and comfortable not cold. We ordered the breaded chicken strips with fries and the absolute best honey mustard dipping sauce I have ever eaten. The fries had a unique seasoning that was wonderful and the chicken strips were breaded perfectly cooked with, I'm assuming, their own seasoned batter. The server was a joy to meet and had a wonderful friendly disposition. Coffee was fresh and hot. I will absolutely be coming back and bringing friends along. An outdated diner where the service was the best experience. I ordered the chicken fajita salad, and I had a large amount of liquid at the bottom and the lettuce was wilted making it unfinishable. I tipped to make an even dollar amount and yet they added an extra penny when they charged my credit card. Came for breakfast and ordered the Greek omelet without onions. Everything was great, except I had to pick out all my onions. And there was a lot! The waitress saw me picking them out too and kept on walking by. Regardless of the onions, it was different and good. Shout out to Annie for her service! She saw us coming in the door for lunch, greeted us and promptly seated us at a table. Annie took good care of us. The burger hit all the marks with sandwich buns made fresh in-house. The Reuben was ok. While we didn’t try the pies, there were a lot to choose from and looked pretty yummy. If you’re looking for a super casual, “down home” place, this is your stop. By the way, the front page of the menu describes the origins of the restaurant and the owners commitment to keeping that “down home” feeling. It’s a great story. Quality meat well prepared, lightly seasoned and mildly flavor. Healthy diner, clean, friendly staff and service. I like that you can get breakfast, lunch and dinner all day from the menu.
