Great service, great food and a great atmosphere! Right off of the beach, fun 50s style dinner look, the burgers and the shrimp burgers were absolutely delicious! The kids meals came in a cute little cardboard street racer car box, which the kids both took home and played with. There was only one server and one cook the day we went but they absolutely crushed it!! Food was quick and delicious! If we make it back to the beach in that area we will definitely be back. This was by far the best dining experience we had while on vacation. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We didn't wait long for our food and it was the best burgers we have had for a while and all for 20.00! . I highly recommend this establishment. Kudos to you all! I ate at the Hwy 55 restaurant in Shallotte this evening. The food was ok at best but the most disappointing part of the meal/evening was after I paid my bill and left the business my wife noticed they had placed an upcharge of 69 cent on my cheeseburger for extra onions. Really.... I can't believe they charged me for extra onions. I wish I had seen it when I paid the bill as I would have said something then. If they were going to charge me for the extra onions, then they should have taken off whatever they charge for pickles as I told them to hold the pickles. It's not the 69 cent it's the fact that Hwy 55 adds a measley 69 cent for a few extra pieces of chopped up onions and doesn't bother to tell their customers when they make their order. Hwy, 55 you will never rip me off again as I will not visit any Hwy 55 establishment ever again. Customers beware when you eat at of Hwy 55, IF THEY GET A CHANCE, THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF TOO.
