The first time I came to HUGS I was a little kid. I remember it being a cool, tiny, fun looking little hut surrounded by snow and woods with enormous plates of pasta. I went recently as an adult and minus the plate sizes (everything seems much larger when you are a kid) the atmosphere was the same. The staff is super friendly and very hard working. They run a really great establishment. I had Linguini in vodka sauce with chicken and broccoli. I had a salad, a meatball and a cannot. The good overall was pretty good - although I thought the vodka sauce was a little watery and needed more flavor. The chicken was also kind of sparse and could've been a more generous portion. They were very busy and it's in a remote location so it's quite possible that they were trying to stretch ingredients. The meatball was out of this world. I would've liked a bit more bread for the gravy with the meatball because that gravy is really good. That was one of the best - if not THE BEST meatballs I have ever had. I was actually taken aback by how good it was. The cannoli was pretty good. The salad was really good also, crisp, fresh, delicious. All dishes seemed to be made with care. It's a small place and it was packed to the brim- I had to sit right by the door at the bar which was not an issue at all as I was able to get a more intimate look at their operations and staff interactions. They struck me as such kind, hardworking and professional people. Long story short- come here if you are in the area- but make a reservation.
