Found this little restaurant online while on a work trip in Peoria, IL. They have amazing catfish, the breading is great and their sides are amazing. Had Mac N Cheese and Green Beans that were amazing. Highly recommend, staff was super friendly and prices were good. Amazing food and service, highly recommend visitng. THIS IS SERIOUS!!!! I'm from Los Angeles and I travel the United States as my job requires. I've had soul food from Mississippi, Alabama, Philly, etc. And I was blown away with the food here. "NOT JUST THE FOOT!! BUT COOKING WITH LOVE THAT REQUIRES THE FULL BODY AND SOUL" I had the BBQ chicken, I tried to pick it up but the bone slipped right out. Tender and seasoned perfect. Green beans w/bacon were definitely on point and the Mac & Cheese!! YUM!!!!! I will going back a few more times before I go back to Los Angeles.. Thank you to the Chef (whos name starts with W, so sorry i forgot her name) it must be a lot of hard work to do what you do, but then again, MAGIC TAKES PRACTICE AND PATIENCE.. I had an amazing experience at the Honey Sugar Cafe! Sometimes it can be really hard finding soul food downtown or anywhere in Peoria IL. So if your looking for some I suggest stopping by the Twin Towers. The food was so good, I’m happy I stopped in.
