It's still good, but I do believe the quality has declined some. Bbq sauce was way too ketchupy for us. Everything was cooked correctly and had good flavor, but it was just not like it was years ago. The Gun Barrel Steak and Game House was a pretty cool place. The atmosphere was very country western style, but at an upscale level. The menu offers a variety of foods from the appetizers through the main courses. I started with a Double Barrel , which is a Bullet Rye Old Fashioned. The drink was both strong and tasty; it came with a kick. For dinner I chose the Mixed Game Grill. This dish came with a combination of Elk Steak, Bison Prime Rib and Venison Bratwurst. My side was sauteed mushrooms and onions. The Venison Bratwurst had a nice flavor. The Bison Prime Rib was moist and flavorful. The Elk Steak was incredible!! Very good and the best part of the meal, in my opinion. The wait staff was prompt, cordial and professional and very accommodating. I definitely would recommend you try this place if you ever visit Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Cheers and Enjoy! We had a wonderful experience here. Great food especially if you want to try bison, elk or game dishes. Portion sizes are generous and you will be well fed! I took a star off because the service was really slow. It was a Tuesday evening during the week after New Year and the restaurant was half full and we waited about 45 minutes for our food. Tried this place in our trip to Jackson. I'm a vegetarian and partner is full carnivore. We loved our meals. He has the Bison Tenderloin. It was flavorful, tender, and delicious. I had the the Winter Beer Salad and Risotto. The mashed potatoes for the tenderloin were garlicky and amazing. The Beer salad has so many textures and flavors! Even my carnivore count pointed liked it! I was hesitant about the risotto, but honestly the mushrooms and peas work so well together! The service was also great! Environment was inviting with a combo of nice restaurants/our west. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is the asparagus. It was the vegetable of the day. And honestly it sounded great to both of us. But it was kinda disappointing. Tasted like store bought asparagus cooked in some olive. No flavor or seasoning. But please don't let this one not so great cooked vegeo keep you from trying it. Despite this one setback, I would highly recommend! Interesting location. The decor was fantastic. Waiter was helpful and knowledgeable. I ordered the bison prime rib. Medium rare. It came out blue rare which normally wouldn’t be a problem for me. My husband and I went and had an amazing experience. Stephen was our waiter and we followed his recommendations for dinner. We got the mixed game grill and pan seared halibut. It did not disappoint! The service and food was great. The manager, Aaron, came around to check on us and was very nice. We also saw him helping the staff in the kitchen and on the floor. Good food in an unpretentious atmosphere. Steak was cooked perfectly. Employees could cheer-up a little, but other than that, this was a nice dinner and experience with the family. Crowded with good energy, and the restaurant is kid friendly. Nice first meal to re-fuel as soon as we arrived in-town. Delicious dinner tonight! We had a reservation and were able to be seated a little early. Our waiter, Robert C, was helpful and attentive, as were all the other staff we interacted with. We came here twice while we were in town, because it was that good. We’ve tried the bison prime rib, bison ribs, bison ravioli and The salmon. All were incredible. I’d recommend the bison prime rib, the salmon and garlic mashed potatoes. In addition, the French onion soup was to die for! And our service was top notch! Waiters were on top of it and so friendly!
