I've been a resident of Newnan since 1992. I'm sorry to say that somehow this place has escaped me as a place to frequent. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by staff. The lady behind the counter explained my options. I had green beans, potatoes, fried okra, fried steak and gravy and banana pudding. I was unable to finish it, but the meal was excellent. The beans and okra were really good and as she promised, the the banana pudding was delicious. I will be back!! Cornbread Muffins! I just wanted to compliment whoever made the cornbread muffins today. They are so good. Everything was good as usual. Wish we could go back to Catfish Hollow. Thanks for changing up the menu. The food is good as usual 😊 I rambled! Do you remember what it was like to stand in the cafeteria line in high school? Having generous portions of previously frozen meats and canned vegetables heaped onto your molded-plastic three-sectioned plate by a friendly "lunch lady"? Every now and then, you'd be surprised by home-made yeast rolls or something that was fried to perfection? If that's what you're looking for, this place is for you. But maybe I just ordered the wrong stuff. I got green beans (canned and cooked to death and back), mac and cheese (clearly from some industrial insta-pack), fried flounder (either frozen or long under the lights) and cornbread. Food was good... counter service, cafeteria style. They gave me 4 chicken legs... but then went skimpy on the pinto beans. Biggest issues is the parking situation isn't great and it is literally on top of Oink Joint, which is hard to pass. Honestly I think this might be the best fried chicken I’ve had in my life! I want expecting anything mind-blowing specially since its a cafeteria but I actually had to go back and get a second portion with how amazing everything is. First visit. Impressive assortment of Southern cooking. Everything I tried was just like my grandmother made. Good chicken, good vegetables. This restaurant has been here for a long time. If you are looking for a southern meal, this is the place to stop by. Lunch time is the best time to come because (to me) you get more for your money. Located in Historic Downton Newnan, GA USA. There is plenty of free and handicap parking. The restaurant is clean and well organized. The employees are friendly and extremely helpful. The food is fresh and well cooked. I know that this is good eating heaven. Awesomeness in restaurant dining.
