The service was good but could have been better at keeping an eye on our drinks, water etc. The food was incredible and the presentation was beautiful! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
Enjoyed a good time here celebrating my brother's birthday. The drinks were good, the Bazaar Old Fashioned and Blood Orange Mule were our favorites, the Apple Cinnamon Old Fashioned was too sweet. My guy and I shared and enjoyed the butternut bisque. My brother like the chowder. For the meals, zero complaints! Overall, this was a great place for a group of 4. We were able to eat and enjoy each other's company without yelling across the table. This place gets my recommendation. Visited the place with a special friend recently for the first time, and would highly recommend it. The staff is very friendly and the service is great. The brick interior adds warmth and character to the ambiance, which is ideal for a casual evening out or perhaps something a little more special. They have a good craft cocktail selection, and the Purple Haze I had hit the spot just right; a bit sweet but with a kick. The Crispy Brussel Sprout appetizer was delicious, and the Lobster and Grilled Corn Risotto along with the Pan seared Scallops were every bit as delectable and appetizing. A shout out to our server Katy, who made our evening very special, and was just a pleasure to have around. The Orange Pistachio Martini capped off a wonderful evening, and made for a very satisfying experience overall. This is a place where a re-visit is a given. I went on a Saturday with a friend and found we were able to seated without a reservation at bout the last table available at 5:00 pm. We ordered the calamari as a starter which was nice and tender inside with a light batter coating. It was a very good start to our meal. We ordered the Boneless Beef Short Rib with root vegetables and the Bourbon Street Fettuccine as entrees. My short ribs were tender and flavorful with a nice gravy over the root vegetables. The risotto was decent but not very flavorful. It could have used more seasoning. A bit more of the root vegetables would have been nice as well. My friend said the Bourbon Street Fettuccine was good but only had one small piece of crawfish in the whole dish. The Andouille sausage was quite spicy even for somone used to spice. The overall sausage flavor of the dish slightly overpowered the rest of the seafood in the dish. Some people do prefer it that way though. For dessert we ordered the Pear and Apple Crisp with vanilla ice cream and a Creme Brulle. Both were excellent and a nice ending to our meal. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, especially on the rainy day we were there. The service was very good as well. We did not have to wait for anything and she did check up on us more than once during our meal which was great. Overall we would certainly go back to Firefly Bar & Bistro and would try different entrees but keep the same appetizer and desserts.
