El Ranchero is a great place to grab some authentic Mexican cuisine. Service a bit impersonal - almost like we were somewhat of an inconvenience, yet it was just my husband and myself. Good food and great prices! Super large portions. I was impressed with the authenticity of the place, which was honestly unexpectedly good. Service was prompt, if not the friendliest. A great, and authentic place. The evening I dropped in was quite busy and our dinner took quite a while to come out. By a while I mean over 40 minutes. If it wasn't for that, I'd give 5 stars. Staff was great, and so was the food, once it arrived. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

When it gets busy, service gets slack. Get there early and you'll be fine. Menu is generally robust with an item or two I can't recommend. I'm still going back till I home in on my perfect dish. Hands down best Mexican in town and one of the best restaurants in post falls period. My wife and I eat here a lot, usually take out but sometimes we sit in. The food is always good, the proportions are big and the staff is the best, everybody there I've interacted with is friendly and helpful and it's clear they are proud of their establishment. This place is AMAZING!!!!! From the first time going there we have been met with kindness, and treated like family. The owner Juan has a huge love for family, and it shows through his generations of family recipes. This place has the best all around authentic Mexican food. The food was pretty good as was the service. The food was a bit more of the gringo side, but not bad. The restaurant décor itself is a little older, but decent.
