This charming restaurant with a delicious menu just gets your taste buds working overtime! Since it was a warm summer night, we chose to sit outside in the alleyway. The narrow alleyway added to the intimacy and the menu was also written on the walls for your benefit. We decided to go for the three course menu special and we were not disappointed. I chose a salad with smoked salmon which was light and fresh with a lemony zing. I settled on the lamb for mains and it was out of this world. Lastly I enjoyed a vanilla ice-cream with chocolate sauce! We ordered a bottle of Rose and it was perfect! Came for a quick coffee. Waiter rushed to remove us from an empty table, because he needed the table in 20mins and multiple other tables were empty. At 17:30 in the afternoon he needed all of the tables for dinner. Maybe the cafe does not like the fact we had a baby. Not coming back for sure. Ended up going next door on a much better spot with a much better service.

It put me right back to the 70's.. like De Schutter in Amsterdam. Brown eetcafé with great food, lovely service, we were so lucky to get a seating on such a busy evening, sitting at the bar end. The ossehaaspuntjes (steak pieces) were just right, so tender and with a nice pepper sauce. We will go tgere again for sure ! Make a reservation to be certain of a table or bar seating. Old school jazz Cafe vibes without being pretentious and while being able to serve a good meal. Come in to enjoy the awesome atmosphere!

Very nice “brown café” in the city center of Gouda. Food is priced very good with a 3 course menu starting at €28,50 excluding drinks. The interior is very nice with old film and event posters covering all of the walls. Food quality is good, not really creative, but that is not why you should visit this place. This place should be visited because of the nice location and good price/quality.

Very good food. Spectacular decoration, friendly staff. We had dinner for two and were very satisfied with it. Also good selection of wines. A hidden gem of Gouda
