The place was recommended by a friend. I read the mixed reviews and decided to give the place a try. Chloe was my server. I ordered the shrimp po’boy and fried chicken with a side of red beans and rice. The po’ boy was fantastic: lightly battered shrimp in a delicious and very crusty baguette with mayonnaise, tomato, lettuce and pickles. Simple and tasty! The fried chicken was also very good but the po’ boy was the star of the meal tonight. Service lagged at first but Chloe gave some very helpful suggestions and was attentive enough to make sure I never had to request for a refill of my soda. I had a hamburger and added grilled onions and pickles. Patty tasted homemade not frozen. Excellent! Husband had the chicken fried steak with white gravy, mashes potatoes with brown gravy, fried corn on the cob and roll. He said it was all good and the steak was tender. Hours note: we arrived about 8 pm and they said they were closing at 8:30 & they had stopped taking friend chicken orders. I get it; no problem. Host was rude food was cold and took 50 minutes. The ketchup was old and fermented. Waitress was doing her best but she was the only one for an entire half of the diner. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

This is the second time that y'all over fried my chicken order! The first time I didn't say anything but both times the chicken tasted like burnt greese. I was amazed at the selection of food! Everything we ordered was great! The waitress was wonderful! It's July in south Louisiana, so in the corner where we sat in was starting to get a little stuffy. We informed the wait staff, and they quickly fixed that by turning on a ceiling fan close to us, which solved the problem right away. We never order dessert, but this time we did! We even purchased fired chicken to go for dinner. When we got the bill, we had to check if we were being charged for everything because it was significantly lower compared to other restaurants. We ordered a blooming onion appetizer, grilled shrimp salad, hot dog with chili cheese and onions with a side of fries, a banana split and a family order of fired chicken, 4 rolls, 2 liter of soda, and two sides to go. The total was comparable to what we would normally pay for only two entrées at most other restaurants. If you haven't tried this place, I would definitely recommend it! First time in LA, first time at this restaurant. It was awesome. Food was delicious, everything seemed homemade. Customer service was fantastic too. Kids loved the cars their food came in!

Not enough staff for a Saturday at lunchtime. Our waitress had an entire section by herself (at least 12-15 tables) so naturally wait time was very long for drinks, apps, food and bill.
